1. Very Sharp & Tips
The Lansky Sharpening System works great. The diamond kits work faster than the less expensive ones. It got my knives incredibly sharp and it was fun and easy to use. The key is picking the angle you want to use. If you follow the knife's factory angle, it will take no time at all. If you want to make the knife even sharper than it was from the factory by changing it a sharper angle (i.e. lower angle), then you will need to use the coarse hone for a while to remove a lot of steel and reset the knife edge.

To find out what the factory angle is you can take a black marker and run it along the leading edge of the blade. If you pick an angle that does not remove the black marker, then you have chosen a smaller angle that the factory pre-set. Either jump up one angle slot or grab your extra coarse hone and work the blade edge down till you get to the leading edge and remove the black. 2. The BEST sharpener I've ever owned
I gave my complete prior Lansky sharpener set to a friend in the Venezuela jungles and got the new diamond set for me. What a big difference this set is over the old stones. Sharpens my blades very fast and I'm delighted with it. I highly recommend it.

Great System!
This system allows you to put an extremely consistent and sharp edge on a knife. With this system I can put an edge on a pocket knife as good or better than comes from the factory. Check out youtube for some demonstrations of this excellent system.
