1. Not hot enough and stone not thick enough...
I wanted to like the oven BUT to be a pizza oven you need good heat and a good stone.

I make my own pizza dough and use my normal oven with a 1/2 inch thick stone. I wanted this oven because I could put it outside and not heat up the house pre heating the oven...

this oven heats to 450 and I was hoping the small size would be sufficient... but the top will be almost burnt before the dough is proper... also it took the pizza about 20 minutes to cook while my normal oven did it in about 10 ... this longer cooking time can yield a harder crust than desired ....

Maybe for normal frozen pizza this oven is okay but if you make your own dough and pizza you will not get the heat you need ..... bummer

2. counter top pizza oven
Here is the deal, you basically get a giant toaster (12" square internal baking surface) a pizza stone and a 30 min. timer. they recommend you preheat the stone for 30 minutes and then put your pizza in. I bought it because I wanted to perfect a Roman style pizza bianca recipe (olive oil and salt pizza). I find myself using it to cook a lot of frozen pizzas and the occasional bagel (which it toasts really well I have to say)

Dear old KitchenAid hand mixer,
It's true that I doubted you. That jazzy red Bodum caught my eye, with its retractable cord and colorful housing. Yes, I strayed.

Unlike you, dear KitchenAid, that Bodum turned out to be all looks and no performance. In the hand it feels clunky and out of balance. The retracting cord turns out to be attached to a crank, awkward to use and hardly an improvement. The cover on the speed button fell off immediately. And when I asked it to cream some butter for cookies, those Bodum beaters just couldn't handle it. All it wanted to do was sit on the counter and look pretty.

So. old KitchenAid, take me back, will you? I promise not to replace you. And when your final day comes, I swear I'll choose another just like you.

2. Freshman Mixer...
Established chefs may want something a little more oomphy, say one of those Kitchen Aid things that look big enough to mix concrete, but for those of us who aren't into the heavy kitchen lifting, this attractive mixer from Bodum more than fills the bill.

It's lightweight, so your arm does not ache from holding it. It has five speeds, enough to go from mixing up a cake batter, whipping cream or eggwhites to mashing potatoes or kneading bread dough. Today we mixed up a cake from scratch (orange spice...use any spice cake recipe, replace half of the liquid with freshly squeezed orange juice and quite a lot of orange zest, bake as usual. Serve with cream cheese frosting, sprinkle on more zest. Easy and pretty and good). Yesterday it was biscuit dough. Tomorrow, who knows...meringue? Of course this frenzy will be over soon...you know what it's like when you're in the New Appliance Honeymoon Stage.

I really needed a good hand mixer and thought this was going to be the one. Here is why it wasn't:

#1- It is very large and clunky and not at all well balanced. It is over 2.6 pounds, I think it's more cumbersome than my mothers old 1950's Oster!

#2- It is very noisy. It starts out OK for a brief second and then sounds like it's grinding rocks, really loud annoying sound. My husband said it was the cooling fan coming on but it was a grinding sound like it was going to rattle apart.

#3-I tried to cream butter and sugar and within seconds a good third of it was thrown all over the counter and up the walls. I tried a very large tall bowl and the same thing happened. There is no low setting at all, when you turn it on it goes from high speed to warp speed in 5 useless settings shooting food all over the kitchen. I have to wonder if the maker of this mixer has ever baked anything!

After spending a few weeks researching various coffee makers and reading numerous reviews and online user reports, I settled on the Capresso CoffeeTEC due to its features and the theory behind how it brews coffee - reduced aeration to hold flavor (vacuum sealed carafe), no burner to bake the bean and increase acidity, and 190+ degree water dispensed into the brewing basket, which is very hot for a coffee maker!

perfect idea for a lazy host
I love to have friends at home, but hate the idea of make a mess with the kitchen and making a huge dinner and appetizers, after cleanup, etc.. this is been a great tool, all my friends love it, got excite like little kids waiting for his own creations, everything here is auto-service, I just open bags of cheese or cans of olives, mushrooms here and there all ingredients are ready to put them in a bowl and your experience as a host cannot be easier, don't forget to check often if anyone is leaving left overs that fall from the spatulas inside the oven for a long period cause they start to get burn and smells.

First, I offer a word of caution to buyers out there. This product is the Blendtec Total Blender, the current model on Blendtec's website as of 2012. This is the one you want because of additional programs and other features. Sadly, Amazon is also offering the older HP3A unit for a few dollars less, I made that mistake and ended up returning it. It looks almost identical, and you have to look at the button panel in enlarged view to see the difference.

Anyway, I love the Blentec total blender, it is a very reliable tool that has earned its place on my counter daily. I had a Vitamix previously, but I found it to be clumsy to use by comparison. Basically the Vitamix is a manual blender, very rugged, but its lack of automation makes it hard to get consistent repeatable results especially when you are doing multiple batches. 2. Makes excellent smoothies
I bought this to make smoothies and the Blendtec can make smoothies out of practically anything eatable. I've used whole oranges (peeled) and cored apples, berries, spinach, nuts and any number of other things. It is the BEST blender I've ever used. It is pretty amazing considering the blades are not even sharp. I debated between this and the VitaMix blender and ultimately chose the Blendtec because of its size, it fits under my cabinets and is easily accessible. I researched for weeks and found that for my purposes it really didn't matter which blender I chose because they both would do what I needed.

Having kids, this blender has been through many experiments and the one that seems to be the most interesting is the ice crushing feature. You can make snow balls it crushes the ice so fine. My kids also make a lot of smoothies and I love that they are consuming healthy foods instead of junk food. The downside is that I'm spending a fortune on frozen fruit. One of my kids...

I LOVE this blender. We use it at least twice a day. It will literally turn ice into snow. It makes perfectly smooth smoothies. It can make hot soups and great ice cream. Margaritas and Daiquiris.......fantastic! Yes, it is a bit expensive but it does so much more than any other blender (except Vitamix) that it's worth it. You will never need another one. As far as the battle between Vitamix and Blendtec, in my opinion, each one is great and it all comes down to personal taste. Each is very powerful and each has a great warranty. I chose Blendtec because I like the looks much better, it will fit under my cabinets and it was cheaper. You can't go wrong either way but if you want the best, there are only two and in my opinion Blendtec is the best.

Manual and DVD:
The manual is detailed and the information is well organized (starting out, cooking modes, cleaning and maintenance). It also provides a few recipes for each cooking mode that I have yet to try but will. You don't have to watch the DVD; the chef basically does short demonstrations of the instructions listed in the manual.

Utensils:
The extra utensils include a spatula, a ladle, a steam stray, and a measuring cup. Satisfyingly all but the measuring cup are made of thick, durable plastic. I've used the ladle and spatula repeatedly with the cooker with hardly any signs of wear & tear which is good considering the manual tells you not to use metal utensils in the cooker. We already have stainless steel measuring cups so the somewhat flimsy measuring cup provided isn't an issue.

Cleaning and Maintenance:
Like advertised the pan is truly nonstick. You have to clean the pan and inner lid after each use, and most of the time I just...

Good multi cooker. Bought it about 2 weeks back, through Junglee in India.

I needed a single one for rice, vegetables and the occasional cake that I bake. I had a separate rice cooker and Morphy Richards OTG before, but this is a single cooker which does it both. I save tremendously on counter space.

Rice comes out nice and fluffy. Cakes come out very well.
Have not tried vegetables yet, will do so soon.

Does require some cleaning every time you cook rice, since the boiling water tends to flow out of the steam valve. But otherwise low maintenance.
Worth it.

Update : Tried out scrambled eggs today (the Indian type, with vegetables and cheese) - came out really well.

Further Update : The text on the buttons tends to rub off with use. That's the only slight problem I have faced. Otherwise, awesome product.

Awesome device!
I've had my Westinghouse multi cooker for several months now and I absolutely love it! I've been cooking soups non stop :-). And boy, do they come out good. In about 1 hour and 15 min of total cooking time you'll have a soup that tastes like it's been cooking for hours and hours.
The pot is big enough for my family of 3 to eat food out of it for at least 3 days. It washes easily in a dish washer.
I really have not found any cons with this machine yet.
I do not like cooking, but now it's actually fun with this wonderful device.

Surprisingly bad with ice. Instructions say not to use ice larger than one inch. However, even with the storebought cylinders, you have to put in one or two cubes at a time. It's very loud. I'm hoping that the durability will outweigh these negative qualities. Omega makes an exceptional quality juicier, so we'll see.

2. It's a blender. It's powerful. It works very well.
This is a solid choice in the "medium-expensive" area of blenders -- above the $40-60 ones that don't work very well and the $400-600 ones that are professional-level. There are only 2 speeds, and the slower speed is still too high for some uses like grating or grinding. The bottom section (where the blender motor connects with the blade unit) is made of a hard rubber, and seems to fray with heavy (daily) use (leaving tiny black-rubber dust on the inside of base unit), and while I have not seen any performance degradation, I suspect that this unit may only last a few years before that part needs replacing.

The stainless steel container is very nice when needing to blend multiple items separately, and well worth the extra $30 or so. The main container is made of plastic (not glass), but it doesn't seem to scratch easily. All container parts come apart wash easily.

Not that great
First off, the metal container had to be the most poorly made item I have seen in a while. Not only did it break once.... I called to have it replaced ( omega was great), the first time I used the second one it broke too. The pieces are not fully welded together so when removing the container from the blender they separate.... Spilling the contents all over my kitchen! Would not recommend based on quality issues.

Finally Philips did what I was expecting: Design a new fully automatic espresso machine at Saeco, the originator of these machines.
The Exprelia is perfect in every aspect. What first strikes me was the silence of operation. Very low noise at every step, grinding, steaming, brewing and cleaning. Compared to my old very noisy DeLonghi Magnifica, it is day and night. The Exprelia is not only fully automatic in making all kind of coffee beverages and particularly cappuccinos, but also in cleaning the milk carafe and everything else. The little screen will tell you what to do at all time. The settings are very easy to adjust and there are plenty of adjustments for all tastes. I was a little apprehensive in buying this machine and be the first to review it, but I trusted not only Philips but also Amazon, both are great company caring a lot for customer satisfaction. 2. DOES EVERYTHING BUT YOUR DISHES!!!
I purchased this machine for my husband's birthday. BOY...it is unbelievable what this machine does! It grinds coffee beans, tamps them and ejects the used grounds into a bin. It goes into a stand-by mode after 60 minutes of no use, at which time, it uses a small amount of water to clean itself. It is a good idea to keep a cup under the dispenser to catch this. Even if you don't do that, it has a nice large tray which will catch the water, although it is much easier to dump the water from a cup, rinse it and place it under the dispenser than it is to clean the tray. The machine has a nice digital display, which tells you exactly what the machine is doing, when it needs more water, when the grounds bin & water tray inside the machine need emptying, when it is time to descale or clean the machine, etc.
It does take some time to figure everything out, especially removing the insides, cleaning them and lubricating them. If you do not put the tamper back the right way, you can tell...

The best choice for great coffee and cappacino
I purchased my first Saeco automatic espresso machine in 1997 when I moved to Switzerland. It was the one appliance that I found I couldn't live without. At the time, these machines were pretty much confined to Europe. I brought it back to the US and had it connected to a large step down transformer. After 5 years, back in the US, it died and I purchased another Saeco Incanto for the house and a Royal Professional for my office team.

Now, in a new location, I purchased the Philips Saeco Exprelia to keep my team fully caffinated and to provide visiting customers (many from Europe and Latin America) with a decent cup of coffee. After 9 months and hundreds of espressos, cafe americanos, and cappuccinos it still delivers great coffee drinks - especially cappuccino. I will purchase another one for a new house that I am building just to provide all visitors with a great coffee or cappuccino.

In a word.....awesome!
I purchased a Foodsaver when they first came out and it lasted about 5 yrs. The second and third one didn't work straight out of the box and the fourth one lasted only a year when it konked out and it was suppose to be the "high end" model. Seems the longer they make them, the cheaper they get. I was through with Foodsavers. Researched online and decided on the Vacupack Elite. My husband and I raise almost ALL our own food from a very large garden to about 100 chickens yearly and several turkeys. We work hard for our food and vacuum almost everything that goes into the freezer. While I have had the Vacupack for only a month,we have already used it alot and it is working great. This oven has 2 rack height positions: center and high. I bought this item from chefscatalog.com approx 6 months ago. The unit worked perfectly for a while but recently started malfunctioning by turning itself on randomly. Sometimes during operation the unit will turn itself off or restart completely. Initially, we didn't believe the issue to be chronic until the babysitter informed us that she smelled something burning and noticed the toaster was on without anyone operating it. Everyone in the household was watching a movie; no one was operating the toaster. Last week, I woke up at 3:00 am to hear the toaster "beeping" telling us that it completed its toasting cycle. Given the obvious fire hazard we keep the unit unplugged. I've contacted Viante for a warranty claim and left a message given that no one answered the phone at 10:30 on a workday. We'll see how they respond.

I almost didn't order this toaster oven because of reviews sure glad I did. I have had it for about a month. This is a very small footprint unit 15" wide and 8" high with convection, don't expect a blast of air it has a fan inside and will make
everything very crisp. The review about toast taking four minutes is correct, this is a oven not a toaster with different heating element four rods not wire and take longer to heat up but will toast perfectly (duh) Most convection ovens are huge
and take up a lot of counter space 20" wide and more. If your cooking for 1, 2 or even 3 this is your oven. If your cooking for 4 or more buy a bigger one. Controls are very easy to use, pan and broil pan are heavy metal, not cheap light aluminum.

As a previous Viking wine fridge owner, I've been spoiled. I wasn't expecting anything close given the fraction of the cost. I was duly pleased by what I got in this dual zone wine fridge.

The wine fridge shipped via freight which was a nice surprise. I would not have enjoyed receiving this delivery if had to get beat up by UPS package delivery. Scheduling the delivery ahead of time was also way more convenient than getting that annoying door tag when you miss the delivery. So it was off to a good start.

Buyer beware
They may say 28 bottles, but the fine print is that they must be skinny bottles. Stack 3 one way and 2 the other for 5 racks and three on the bottom. Forgetta about it. I took the bottles I already have and was able to get three per rack for 5 racks and 3 more on the bottom. Expect to fit 18 bottles. Plus it was cramped. Some of the bottles were fat on the bottom and they barely fit vertically. The dual zone has the higher temperature in the upper zone and the lower zone for lower temperatures. So if you want to store red wine, you'll get to store 6 bottles in the upper zone. I was hoping to store more red than white. I'm probably going to stay with the highest temperature on the lower zone and similar temperature on the upper zone so really the dual zone didn't work for me. I'm going to make it low end for red and high end for white so basically it will be a one zone cooler. Perfect for our use
We purchased the Stainless Steel BottleLess Water Cooler for personal use. Since I drink a lot of water, constantly refilling the refrigerator Brita bottle was becoming a nuisance. This completely fills our need for filtered drinking water. The only drawback is that we wish that there was an adjustment to the temperature for the hot water. It is a little lower than what we would prefer for hot tea or instant coffee. The installation was relatively easy. I had been a little concerned about the hot water and a 2 year old grandson. But the safety feature seems adequate. He does enjoy getting his own cup of water. The ease to remove and clean the drip pan is a plus. Would definitely recommend this item for home use if filtered water is important to you.

Absolutely the best steel ever made
I am also a professional chef and i actually work with Thomas. I think that says enough about the quality of this steel. We work three feet apart and i still felt the need to have my own. I recently bought a misono 440 and took it from a 50/50 to a 70/30 using only the steel. With the combination of this steel and the micro i too have no need to take my knives to the stone. While i use mostly japanese knives i have a wusthof ikon santoku, and it does a great job on that. Every professional chef should have one.

This Bunn BX-B 10-cup coffe brewer is a pricey but fantastic coffee maker for your home or small office. I bought one for my office, so that I can make myself a quick pot of coffee when I get to work or whenever someone stops by to visit my office during the day. This machine makes coffe FAST and the flavor of the coffee is always consistent. Although I have never found many of the Bunn coffee makers to be much of a fashion statement, this unit is fairly high-tech looking, with its black and stainless color combination. Not hot enough
I bought this to replace an older Bunn which I loved, but was accidentally ruined by my wife. However, the new model does not heat the water hot enough. I performed several tests and the water conistently comes out at 180 degrees. This is below Bunn's stated temperature of 190. Ten degrees may not sound like much, but it makes a big difference.

I usually put a pot of coffee in a thermos after it is brewed. Since the Bunn's brewing temperature is so low, the coffee does not stay warm for very long. I believe that a good coffee maker should heat the water a little above 190 so that the coffee comes out hot.

I believe other reviewers have had the same complaint. I sure wish Bunn would go back to their old design. I think this is going to be the last Bunn I will purchase.

I purchased the Rapid Steel after seeing it in use on the Outer Banks, NC. The steel restores even dull blades with just several swipes. 1. Grocery-store rotisserie chicken at home, your way
This is a nice compact rotisserie, carrying that Foreman name and cachet, meaning good low-fat grilling or roasting. A rotisserie has an advantage over ovens and contact grills in that it uses radiant heat to evenly roast your food. The results are juicy and tender, with that wonderful crust that only air and radiant heat can produce. But is the Baby George all it's advertised to be?

Yes and no is the ambivalent answer. The Baby George is advertised to hold a five-pound roast or bird, and this is really NOT true, in my experience. Unless your five pound roast is very compact and not terribly WIDE, it will strike the front of the oven cover as it turns on the spit. That prevents the motor from turning the roast, and since the heating element (a simple exposed coil in back) is only on the back side, your roast can't cook properly.

For under five pound roasts, the rotisserie works well. To roast a pork roast or chicken, you use the spit. The spit is in two parts: a spike and plate...

I have been watching the infomercial on the Showtime Rotisserie for months and almost bought one.

I have recently read many complaints and problems with the Showtime Rotisserie on the Internet such as some fires in the unit , improper cooking of the food and many mechanical breakdowns and cleaning difficulties, and decided against it. Then I found the George Foreman Model and since I already own a George Foreman Grilling Maching that I constantly use and that has been trouble free after years of constant use, I decided to buy the George Foreman Rotisserie. Since I am single and have a small kitchen, this Baby model is the perfect size. I was worried about the heat, on my small counter due to many comments about the Showtime Rotisserie requiring a big area due to the excessive heat it develops. Yummy food, but a pain in the neck to clean
I definitely have not used the oven since I got the rotisserie, food with a lot of fat or skin comes out amazingly delicious. Dont bother with fat free foods, you'll just dry them out and waste money. Dont do pork chops either. The unit comes apart easily for cleaning, but its a pain to scrub the wire basket - take out stock in Brillo pads! Also, the metal back wall that slides out gets stains like watermarks even when it is clean, it never will look shiny new again no matter how clean. The white on the unit is yellowing from the heat, and my turn knob broke off from the heat as well - I had the unit about 2 inches from my toaster oven on the right side and it contained too much heat outside the unit. It is also difficult to clean the upper insides of the unit, since you cannot remove it. Did I mention it makes a mean chicken wings dinner (just dont put them on top of eachother in the basket). 1. NICE OVEN
I have used the oven for toasting, baking, keep warm & Panini & was very satisfied with each outcome. My DH really likes the Panini's. The toast takes a little longer than a regular toaster, but to me it is worth the wait. It toasts on both sides, unlike most toaster ovens. All in all, I am very pleased & would recommend. Five Star rating.

2. Ok if you don't mind waiting 10 minutes for toast
Panini function is kind of cool but just to toast something TAKES FOREVER!!! I feel like I'm cursed when it comes to toaster shopping. I finally decided it would be worth it to spend a lot and get a good one and I'm still completely displeased with my toasting experience. If I had endless counter space I'd keep this for the oven and get a good pop-up toaster for toast. But why can't somebody make a decent toaster oven that does both? WHY?!?

I bought this bread machine from Amazon because they had a nice sale on it about two weeks ago. It seemed like a good price for what looked like a decent machine, so I ordered it. I'm so glad that I did! I have made six loaves so far, all of which have come out perfectly. I tried two other, hand-me-down machines before this model, both of which burnt or did other crazy things to the loaves and so required tons of monitoring and adjustments. 2. Best Breadmaker I've had
This is truly the best breadmaker I have had in years. This is the seventh breadmaker I have bought. I have had Rival, Salton, Williams Sonoma and not to mention a very expensive one. This one tops all of them together. To start off with, it has a small size but makes a huge 2lb loaf. It is so quiet, that I had to keep looking if it was working. I have made 3 Cinnamon Raisin breads and 4 White breads and 1 French bread in the last two days. They all came out perfect. Also the body (exterior) of this one does not get as hot as the other ones so it can be put against a backsplash. This was the best purchase and I would recommend this machine to all who love a perfect loaf of bread.

Perfect bread!
I am still new to bread machines.

I was given an old chefmate thats not even made anymore and loved it. I was confined to only making a basic white bread from it though being I had no manuel and couldnt find one on line to use the other settings.

As I said, the chefmate was old and finally gave up the ghost.

I shoped here on amazon com as I always do to look for a new breadmachine, and also see the reviews of other amazon com users to help. I had it narrowed down to 3 differant machines. THen I found this machine. Breadman TR8752

I bought it directly from amazon which got to me in a lightening speed of 2 days. Perfectly boxed and protected.

This thing is a beauty. I put it through the one time recommended rapid cycle empty to burn off all manufacturing oils and couldnt wait.

I just picked this up last night from a very popular membership warehouse for <50 bucks. As soon as I got it home, I unpacked it and plugged it in. I filled my graduated stainless Pyrex pot up to the 2 qt line with cold tap water. I covered the pot with its glass lid and turned the hot plate on. I set it to the max setting of six and checked the time, 9:15. Through the glass lid, I could see bubbles forming within the first minute. By most peoples' definition of boiling, it was boiling within 8 minutes. I then pulled the lid and continued to observe. By 9:25, it was a full-on rolling boil - the kind that spits water everywhere if left uncovered.

The second picture that Amazon shows with the boiling pot surrounded by ice cubes was totally my experience. As the water was furiously boiling away, the surrounding glass felt cool to my touch.

I also tested the lower temp settings. When choosing settings 1-5, the device simply cycles the heat on and off. The output...

2. This Technology is Great!
This cooktop is great!
- Cooks well with all the pans in the inexpensive try-ply stainless steel cookware set I picked up at W. Mart.
- Heats the pans quickly and so far has done just as well as the stove for cooking eggs, grilled sandwiches, rice and veggies. Boils water for tea/coffee as fast as my electric kettle.
- The controls are dead-simple, the built in timer is useful, and it's easy to clean.
- The pan-detect and auto-shutoff are good safety features - reduces energy waste and now I don't have to worry about accidentally burning down the house.
- The fan does make a bit of noise [like any fan does] but it isn't noticeable over the stereo or t.v. There is also an electric "buzz" when the pan is being heated, but again, it's not distracting.
- Would be a great choice for those in dorms or studio apartments, or for single-folk and couples.

Most of the negative reviews I've read for these machines have been from people who seem to not have...

2nd Day Testing
Ok, to start with, when you hit the power button and a setting, 1-6, and it's beeping that means the pan isn't going to work and you have to do the magnet test to find one that does or use a diffuser disk or interface disk, read further down on that. Also, this has a fan and it's as loud as my microwave. I tested both with the App Noise Meter. This unit ran at an average of 39db while the microwave was 38.5db. They're both fan sounds and I tend to tune those out so no biggie for me.

I'm using a Lodge Logic L9OG3 10.5" Griddle as my diffuser for the non-magnetic cookware. The Lodge Logic is a lot cheaper than the specialized disk they sell and it's a griddle. I can also use my burner plates as a diffuser. I think they're the Nordic Ware brand but could be another brand that's magnet friendly. Of course the draw back on the burner plate covers is there's no handle so you have let them cool before removing. Additionally, the Imusa Preseasoned Cast Iron Comal should work...

Hats off to Oster on this one.....we love this oven! I was sent on a mission when my very old Wel-Bilt oven went on the fritz. It had lasted so long that I would have bought another, but I found out they are no longer made. I spent countless hours and days researching a replacement, only to find out that the maunfacturers apparently haven't been able to perfect their designs. It seems they all have their pros and cons. Eventually my search narrowed down to either this oven or the Hamilton Beach Countertop Oven with Convection & Rotisserie Model # 31103. Obviously I chose the Oster, and I have NO REGRETS. It is perfect for my use.

I found that I am no longer using my regular kitchen oven (excluding the stovetop), and relying solely on my toaster oven. I was looking for something bigger than what I had, but not too large. I would consider this a medium sized oven. My old oven would fit a cornish hen but not a 5 lb chicken, and this Oster oven is able to handle a 5...

2. Very inaccurate temperature
I use my toaster oven mostly for baking, so the first thing I did was put in a known accurate oven thermometer and turn the oven on convection bake. Set at 400 degrees it heated up to nearly 550 degrees. I could feel heat radiating from several feet away. After 45 minutes or so it cooled down to just over 400, but I like to use the toaster oven for small items because it should reach temperature quickly and save electricity. This thing will not do that.

It emits a gentle whir while it's running that might annoy some people. But the 150 degree over temp annoyed me a lot more!

We ordered this a few weeks ago, so far we have tried potatoes fries, pizza, roasted chicken and we roasted some almonds as well. Everything came out excellent. This oven is indeed a multifunction appliance. It first is a convection oven similar to a Rotisserie oven, but with a turntable rack. So you are not limited to roasted chicken and ribs but can put smaller pieces on the turntable. The second function is to replace the turntable with a food tumbler or paddle, it then turns into an automatic stir fryer. We made some fries from fresh potato. Needless to say the fries are much less greasy with only one spoon of oil, but we are thrilled to see this actually works. It means this cooker can take the tedious labor work out of cooking.

With everything we have cooked in this turbofry oven so far well done, we are very pleased with this product.

Bought this a few weeks ago, so far everything we cooked in this oven turned out to be AMAZING!! Chicken is always cooked to perfection, the skin is crispy and inside is juicy, I am thinking of taking a picture to show you guys. There is a lot of oil drip to the bottom. You do not have to flip it half way during the cooking, the bottom of the chicken is browned as well. We have tried pizza, freshly cut potato fries, they all turned out delicious. Really in love this oven.

False Advertising!
Since we had the other oven from Secura the 997 and liked it we thought we would try this one--since it was the "latest, greatest" from the company. A big mistake! This one comes with more gadgets and about the only advantage to this over the all digital 997 is that it has a turntable to rotate food. Supposedly it can fry foods as well.

But that is it...everything else is worse about this than the all digital model that is $30 less. First of all it uses more electricity 1550W vs. 1350 for the halogen cooking oven. It also takes longer to cook than the old oven. Some "genius" in the engineering dept. at Secura decided to make 482 degrees the maximum temp for the oven--I think he is now working on making 61MPH speed limits on some highway or clocks that go up to 11:37PM. Nonetheless, the old unit tops out at a very normal 500 degrees. Additionally, this unit never gets up to the 482 degrees promised. When I used my cooking thermometer it topped out at 350 degrees...

Due to the high price I checked many reviews on many sites and most brands had specific problems or limitations. The Jura was consistently rated highly with few problems. When spending $1500+ I didn't want a machine that was going to break down after a few months. I have now had this machine for about 6 months and have had no problems except a minor one explained below.

First the good

Very easy set up. I was up and going in about 30 minutes after opening the box and making sure all the parts and pieces were included.

The machine is pretty idiot proof. It tells you when to add water, when to add coffee beans, when to run the cleaning cycle, when to decalcify, and when to dispose the used grounds. The burr grinder is fairly quiet and has run without clogging. You do have to be careful not to use beans that are too oily but if they are all you have to do is let them sit for about 5 hours before using. The water capacity is very adequate at 70 oz. Great machine. One year later still love it.
This machine replaced a Spidem Divina. Although the Divina made good coffee, it was very temperamental and required numerous calls for on the phone repair. Finally, we just gave up. The Jura was twice the price and well worth it. We have not had one problem and love the coffee. I whole heartedly recommend this machine, you won't be sorry. We purchased from a brick and mortar Sur La Table store. They said if there is ever any problem, just return and they would replace if they were unable to diagnose the problem. But, as I said, not one issue.

I bought my espresso machine a little over a year now and have never looked back...
It all started when my daughter came to visit and took me to that coffee place(I won't name it but cups are over $5 each!!)and had my first taste of espresso!!!then after also seeing the alton brown(good eats) episode on making espresso yourself started the spark in me to learn about the different espresso machines out there on the retail market(and there are a lot of them)One of the MANY things that led me to this machine is the frothed milk feature where instead of frothing a pitcher of milk at a time and wasting whats left, you have a separate container that holds the milk that detaches and stores in fridge till next cup....a VERY handy feature!!!and the quality of product and ease of setting different features(all explained in instruction manuel which can be a bit overwelming but take it slow and keep book close by till you can memorize certain steps)

2. tatsty coffees, well designed and easy to use machine
I am very happy with this machine. Very easily it produces very good cappuccinos or espresso style coffees. The milk container is handy and there is a clever mechanism to clean the frothing spout without having to empty and wash the milk container, allowing me to return the container back to the refrigerator for the next use.

I'm impressed with the design, since previously had two Saeco automatic espresso machine (both which died after 3 or 4 years of heavy use). When the bottom drip tray is removed, it also contains the grounds container and the catch for stray coffee grounds. The Saeco machine required vacuuming to find remove the grounds that largely missed the small tray to catch them.

The buttons and menu are very straight forward. The messages appear in clear English and are much easier to follow than the Saeco machine. The help manual is also very clear. Other machines in the past seem to have poor translations from Italian.

Better than Starbucks
I received this machine as a gift (thankfully, 'cuz I wouldn't have been able to afford it for myself). Before this I had a Capresso CoffeeTEC machine. The Magnifica is so easy to use and to clean, it's great not to have to deal with filters, grinders, frothers, etc. My husband is a stickler for using freshly ground coffee beans for his coffee. It's such a joy not to have to sweep up the coffee grinds from the floor now! Anyway, here are some things I like about it:

- Amazing tasting coffee; freshly ground at the touch of a button. Several people have told me that it tastes better than Starbucks coffee
- Machine rinses itself after turn on and before turn off
- Tells you when to clean the coffee grind container (makes 'em into little hockey pucks)
