1. Great Quality
Love this grill! Quality made, looks and cooks beautifully. Only negative is we wish the cord were longer as it is placed on our table to share in the cooking. This shorter cord limits where we can put it.

2. Love that Raclette
We wanted a raclette maker after having raclette with friends in France. Our web search turned up several. We were tempted by the ones with granite tops, but opted for the Swissmar (competitive price, looked good on the web) with the iron grill top. Instead of just boiled potatoes, we had our raclette with roasted veggies (potatoes, tiny squash, tiny eggplant, little onions) and it was spectacular. We actually found raclette cheese at a local gourmet market, and used that and morbier. Wonderful meal, and having tried it ourselves we now want to invite friends and do dinner parties with it. Heats quickly, melts the cheese quickly. Only drawback is the inner plates melt faster than the outers - this is a negative only if you have 8 people. If you have only 4, give each an inner and an outer and they can pace their cheese melting and it turns into as asset! We're happy with our selection of the Swisssmar.

1. Looking for a good Citrus Juicer
Had an old inexpensive Braun juicer for many years that finally need to be replaced and found out they don't make them any more.
First purchased a stainless steel Breville. It looked nice, but for some reason did not have enough motor power which caused it to stall on juicing and returned it. Was very dissapointed.
Then went cheaper and bought a Tribest based on reviews at Amazon. It worked for about 1 year a part broke on it. Also, it was not dishwasher safe. Finally, purchased this Omega. First unit delivered had a slightly bent shaft and had a very annoying squeak. I decided for this much money it should work correctly. Returned the unit and requested a replacement.(transaction went smoothly).

2. Not a great Juicer- flimsy and cheap materials.
I ordered this to replace and upgrade from the Waring Pro I have had for almost 10 years of hard use. I use a Vita Mix and a Champion Juicer, and wanted a solid hardworking citrus juicer to sit with them on my kitchen island. From the pictures of the Omega C-10W, it looks like a well designed product, I especially like that it is tall, has a "splash guard" and three sizes of reamers.
When I opened the box and set it out, I was immediately surprised how LIGHT WEIGHT the juicer is. The base of the unit had come open in shipping , and the motor mount posts had broken. The motor unit was loose, with poorly attached wiring. The whole base is cheap light weight plastic. The reamers are thin plastic as well. For almost $200- I was expecting a solidly built Juicer. It is impossible to imagine something this poorly designed would ever hold up to "Professional" use, what ever that is!

1. Excellent Old-School Popper
I bought this popper in December 2000. After nine years of use I can say this thing is great!

I looked at a lot of machines when I was shopping and I picked this one for a couple of reasons. First, it has both a heating unit below the floor and a heat lamp above. Most small units I looked at only had the heat lamp. Second, this machine has glass walls. The doors are hard plastic, but the walls are glass. I was worried that the smaller machines with plastic walls would scratch easily as I scooped the popped corn. I bought a metal popcorn scoop that's tapered to feed a popcorn box and has holes to allow unpopped kernals to fall through. If I had a plastic walled machine, I'd have to be careful how I used the scoop for fear of scratching the walls. But, as another reviewer pointed out, this thing is built like a tank!

One pre-packaged pack of popcorn makes about as much as two typical microwave bags. But it tastes much better! My wife and I love this...

Customer Service made the difference
I'm revising my review on this product based on the excellent customer service at Paragon. They responded to our complaints about the two models we returned and replaced it. They even had us talk to an engineer about our issues so they could avoid those problems in future products. We tested it last night and it worked perfectly. I'm still giving it 4 stars because we shouldn't have had issues with two previous machines but we are happy with the one we currently have and expect many years of enjoyment out of this product.

1. slightly disappointed
This juicer extracts the juice so efficiently that I have to use one orange less every day to get the same amount of juice that I got with my old juicer. However, the Krups has difficulties handling a grapefruit at the automatic setting and I need to switch to the manual. Also, I was very disappointed to find out that this model does not come with a drip stopper which necessitates the placement of an extra glass under the spout to catch the dripps, or it must be disassembled immediately after use so that is does not drip. I have also inserted a paper towel into the spout to regulate the drips. For this price, Krups should include a drip stopper.

2. Solid construction
When our $15 juicer went after one year,we went shopping for a replacement. But all the reviews of the juicers that were in the same or even slightly higher price range were mainly disappointing. It appears that a common theme of those reviews was that the juicer just did not last. We use our juicer about once every two weeks and only during the winter months when we wanted to make fresh lemonade from the lemons we grew in our garden. So, it wasn't as if we stressed it beyond reasonable use. We searched for something which would last instead of having to replace it every year.

In fact, buying a new $15 juicer each year for 6 or 7 years would still be cheaper than buying the Krups and we did consider that alternative. But we decided spend a bit more on something that would last a long time instead of having to deal with this each year. We searched for something with a much more powerful motor since the more powerful the motor, the less likely it will burn out if you use it...

An excellent choice for a citrus juicer
After reading reviews about all the heavy-duty/commercial juicers available on Amazon, I bought this for my husband for Christmas. With lots of family in town and a trailer-full of oranges, tangerines, and lemons from a local grove, he opened it a few days early. It juiced SEVERAL HUNDRED pounds of citrus over the next couple weeks without a single glitch. The design is simple- easy to use and clean. Our 5-year-old juiced tangerine juice for about 20 people all by himself. Our guests helped themselves to fresh juice throughout the day because it was so easy to use. We've been using the single element version of this (Cadco PCR-1S Professional Cast Iron Range, Stainless) for a year and liked the quality but wanted lower wattage options for simmering as well as the ability to run two elements at once on our limited off-grid power system. This dual element version fit the bill and as an added bonus leaves a useable amount of counter space in front of it (it's not as deep as the single element version--see added product pictures comparing both units side-by-side).

While the single element unit (1600W) linked above is ideal for large pots (over 12" diameter) which do not fit so well on the smaller dual element unit, this dual element unit provides a more even simmer with lower wattage elements (1000 + 650 = 1650W) (total wattage is per nameplate on items--guessing a bit on dual element individual element wattage as product description does not add up to match...

2. Very pleased!
I followed the ten minute burn in that instructions called for. It smoked and smelled and now that its over (let the unit cool completely), I haven't experienced any odor problems that a few seem to have complained about. Maybe they didn't read the directions? After the burn in came the test: 8 quarts of water on the big burner and a sauce pan on the little one. It boiled both in about ten minutes. That's fine by me! The knobs feel solid and good under my finger tips while providing a nice adjustment range. The unit works just fine as there's plenty of heat and I'm very happy with it. One note: after I was all beaming over the unit, I noticed a hole in the back of the unit where it looks like a screw might have gone missing. It hasn't. I ordered a replacement unit (Amazon sent it free and within two days) and it was the same. I contacted the manufacturer and this is normal. Short Life, Other Issues
The range worked well for about six months and then the left burner quit working altogether. By that time the cast iron burners were starting to show signs of rust in places. While it cooked reasonably well, it was very slow to heat up, and equally slow to cool down. The controls are quite good for simmering and warming, but it is not really made for cooking. I would NOT buy another, and in fact have replaced it with a two burner induction cooktop that is far superior for cooking.

I bought a Cuisinart CSB-76BC SmartStick 200-Watt Immersion Hand Blender, Brushed Chrome at the beginning of the year and it broke, so I bought this one. I love it, it is very powerful and efficient, I can make ANYTHING with it: soups, gazpachos, smoothies, cocktails... Crunching ice in my smoothies and cocktails is no problem, I've used it for months and the blade is still intact! It's also very easy to clean, I really just have to rinse the shaft, wipe the handle, and that's about it. Eating fruits and vegetables has become so easy! I highly recommend it.

Shaft is flimsy and vibrates too much.
The body feels solid but the shaft feels flimsy and it vibrates too much when the blender is running. If I hold the shaft with my hand while I run the blender, the the vibration stops and it runs smooth; but once y release it, the shaft starts to vibrate again. The blade also looks frail. The gear where the shaft connects to the body is made of plastic. A product is as strong as its weakest link. This blender would be ok for $30.

Exactly as stated in Specifications, but better. Quieter than I expected - must put my hand on it to know if it's running. Wonderful glass shelves- easy to clean, large plastic removable bottom bin. I don't use that. Door storage is adjustable and drink can column on door holds 8 cans. Great refrigerator. Runs quiet and very little frost build up in the freezer.

But the "lock" is rather silly. Instead of a key, it is a hex head nut that slides a bar from the door into the frame. It certainly wouldn't keep a six year old out, let alone a teenager looking for beer.

Used this to fry a bunch of fish, oysters, shrimp, and homemade fries. The capacity is great and the ability to maintain temperatures makes frying fast. My peanut oil was in god condition for reuse. I did use the fryer on my screened porch so I cannot say whether the house would have smelled of frying if I had used it inside. I purchased the Waring Pro WPM40 after happily using a West Bend Stir Crazy for many years. A few months ago we instituted a weekly movie night among some friends. When making numerous batches I found that the Stir Crazy had a problem with an unacceptable increase in unpopped kernals after the first batch. Purchasing two brand new Stir Crazy poppers did not resolve this problem so I decided to follow the Movie Theater example. After doing a bit of searching on the internet I was unable to find any informative reviews on this style of popper for home use. Without wanting to spend a large amount of money on the true movie theater models I settled on the Waring Pro WPM40 in part due to: it's more reasonable cost; it's close resemblence to the 'pro' models; it was being advertised by some reputable catalog merchandisers; and the Waring brand name.

2. This is a TOY.
This unit is by no means a professional popper because it cannot produce enough popcorn fast enough to serve more then one person every 4-5 minutes.

The product info claims that about half a cup of unpopped kernels can produce up to 12 cups of popcorn from this unit. I tried numerous times, using different varieties and quantities of popcorn and oil. The fact is, even when this popper is working at its best, it will only produce a single small serving per batch, (about the size of a large cereal bowl) and it will always waste about 10% of the popcorn kernels you put into it.

The so-called "warming light" is just a standard 60 watt lightbulb. It's not going to warm anything.

Waring calls this a "professional" popper - that is just a brand name. This is a consumer unit made in China. If speed and efficiency is your priority, you can save yourself time, money, and popcorn if you stick with a $20 stovetop manual stirring kettle.

Waring WMP40 Popcorn maker is a HIT at our place.
This was a birthday gift for my wife's birthday. It does an excellent job and is as advertised. Clean up is fast and easy. So is making the popcorn. You can have excellent popcorn in less than 10 minutes. This involves getting the device out of storage, putting it together, preheating, popping and serving.

If you do not clean it everytime which is probably not necessary, well at least IMO but not my wife's, then plan on having excellent corn in about 5 minutes.

My wife, the popcorn lover in the house, verbally swore off Microwave popcorn in front of me while the unit was sitting idle upstairs just waiting to be opened on her birthday.

When I began looking up juicers I came across this one at the last minute of choosing between two others from J.C. Penney and Walmart. This one I chose because it has a good customer service policy although, after using the product even once you can't return it. But considering how well it works, I don't mind that part. It already has a good couple years warranty anyway. This juicer (extractor) workds really well even with whole fruites like pears and oranges (without the peel of course). I have not tried many fruits in it yet but when I do I will post later about my results with larger fruits and vegatables. The only down side it seems is the clean up. There are about 5 mediaum-large pieces that have to be thoroughly cleaned after use which can take up a little bit of time so unless you plan on making a ton of juice at a time I wouldn't bother with it when making small amounts. This juicer is awesome! I do a lot of juicing, and the power and extraction of this juicer is great! The cleanup is super easy if you do it right away. Takes about 5 minutes! The metal bar that holds the unit in place is a bit awkward, and it seems fragile when pushing it into place, so just be careful with it, clean it right away.. and you will have a great juicer on your hands!

I purchased this whetstone to go with my set of chroma knives. I thought it was a little expensive, but ordered it anyway because I felt that if you have the knives then you should probably order this whetstone. It arrived very quickly and was very nice quality. It even has rubber feet on it so it will not slip when you are using it wet. You must soak the whetstone in water for about 15 minutes, until it no longer absorbs any more, prior to using. Your knife is then drawn back and forth on the whetstone at about a 10-15 degree angle to the blade of the knife. In very little time the blade is brought back to it's original sharpness or better. It is suggested to use the whetstone 70-80 percent more on the side of the hand that you use. That would mean if you are right handed then sharpen 70-80 percent more on that side than the left side or vice versa if you are left handed. I use a ripe tomato to test the sharpness on. Haier appliances get mixed reviews. From the reviews I've read of similar Haier microwaves here on Amazon, I'm cautiously optimistic about this purchase. We've had ours only for a day. I bought it at Walmart for $55, though I would have used Amazon if we weren't in a hurry to replace our ruined Sharp, .8 cu ft, 800w oven. The Haier is a little bigger--inside and out and a little more powerful. It is also much, much quieter--both my wife and daughter keep remarking on that. It has an interior light and a turntable as well as a variable power control. The Sharp had only the turntable, so these features are also a step up. Performance so far is excellent. So the only issue is the question of longevity. The Sharp lasted 5 years (and may have gone longer except I burned a roll in it and the smoke smell could not be removed. Live and learn.) The Lansky Sharpening System works great. The diamond kits work faster than the less expensive ones. It got my knives incredibly sharp and it was fun and easy to use. The key is picking the angle you want to use. If you follow the knife's factory angle, it will take no time at all. If you want to make the knife even sharper than it was from the factory by changing it a sharper angle (i.e. lower angle), then you will need to use the coarse hone for a while to remove a lot of steel and reset the knife edge.

To find out what the factory angle is you can take a black marker and run it along the leading edge of the blade. If you pick an angle that does not remove the black marker, then you have chosen a smaller angle that the factory pre-set. I had never heard of such a device as the Chillin' Pour and likely would not have bought one before I was introduced to it and now I love the idea. My circle of friends are big fans of Jimmy Buffet and his songs. We get together often for dinner parties, pool parties or just to talk and we have a nice selection of appetizers and adult beverages. The Chillin' Pour is the perfect thing to create fun party drinks for the whole gang and just large enough for our group to sample a few.

Unfortunately the first time I plugged it in my margaritas did not change temperature after chillin' for over 5 hours. I wrote an email to the manufacturer explaining what happened and asking for advice. They acknowledged my email within a day from then gave me EXCELLENT customer service to resolve the problem.

So how do I like it? I love it. There are certain mixed drinks that don't do well with ice. For me those are the best to make in the Chillin' Pour. Things like Lemon...

2. Nifty, Non-essential Fun
A minimalist explanation of this product is that it cools your drinks-- supercools them. Does it make drinks? No-- it's not a blender. You can pour in pre-blended drinks and they'll come out super-chilled, but it takes some time. Same with liquors: we poured in most of a bottle of good tequila and waited awhile-- several hours to reach the minimum temperature-- and had some nice shots, maybe the coldest I've enjoyed.

It's a fun product, but not for everyone. A good blender and some ice will meet most of your needs for less dough: it's also easier to clean, faster, and better for large quantities of drinks for medium-size to large parties. That said, there may be a place at your home bar for this clever gadget. As a dispenser of chilled shots for a small party, it's ideal.

Great idea just lacks in the volume department!
OK, so I bought this to chill my Tequilla for a New Years Party. I thought this was cool, but come to find out it only chills 25 oz. at a time... don't know about you, but my friend & I (about 15 of us) all do shots of Tequilla, and this product will yield less than two per person!

2 Hours to cool, 4 hours to 15 degrees... ok, I can work with that, but when it only takes 25 oz of liquid, at a party, you will have a problem! Lots of mess to clean up when I can put my bottles in the freezer just as easily!

Sorry, but I am sending this back. Now give me one of these that holds 1.75 litre of liquor and I am sold. This product is not worth the price paid and I am disappointed.

You read a lot of reviews of wine coolers being too loud or do not cool properly. This may be a direct result of people not reading directions. When you move a refrigerator of any kind the unit is supposed to be kept upright. The reason for this is because there is very thick lubricant (oil) in the compressor unit. If the refrigerator has been moved, stored, or delivered sideways the oil must be given time to drain back into the compressor properly. If your unit was just delivered to you and the box is upright then you have to assume that it could have been on the truck for several days. This means the oil is not in the correct position in the compressor to be turned on as soon as you bring it home. The box this unit was shipped in is large and will more than likely have to be put on its side to fit in your vehicle. The instructions with this unit clearly state not to turn the unit on for a few hours to allow the lubricant to settle properly. I allowed for three hours to pass before...

So far so great!
I just got this yesterday and set it to 57 and it works perfectly. I just purchased some reds and opened door stacked them in there, fit perfectly and the temp didn't budge. I had a cheap (1/2 priced) 6 bottle Emerson that worked well for 4 years, now it won't cool down, it is being affected my our Indian Summer heat, which it never mattered before how hot my place got. This new one looks soooo much better, very quiet, no complaints at all, so far. I will do another post if anything changes, but so far I love it. Btw, it is positioned exactly next to my old one. 1. Useful, but not according to instructions
This thermal cooker has been a very useful piece for me, but probably not as Sunpentown intended. This has been invaluable as an insulated pot for potlucks, yogurt incubator, teakettle substitute, and a milking pail (yes, I milk goats), but not as an alternative to a slow cooker, which is its intended purpose.

When I tried to use the cooker as suggested, which was really difficult considering that the instructions were unclear and translated poorly, the food was underdone. When I cooked food in other containers (this one has a thin bottom) and then used this to keep the food warm, it worked much better. It does hold heat VERY well.

To tell the truth, I bought this, then put it away for a couple of months in disappointment. Then I started using it for potlucks, and suddenly came up with more uses. I made tea and kept it hot for hours. I used it to incubate yogurt. It became a great ice cube holder at parties. I'd like to see how it cooks rice. Hmmm...

2. No good
I'm not sure if it was the company that the item came from or if it was in fact a defect of the brand. I say this because the authenticity of the brand Sunpentown was questionable considering that the packaging was all in a foreign language and the Sunpentown name or logo was no where to be found on the packaging. This item was a gift and when the person pulled the item out of the box (at present opening time on Christmas mind you) the handle of the thermos broke off immediately which doesn't seem very safe since it's supposed to be portable and able to carry hot foods and liquids. I can't imagine what a catastrophe that might of been...blessing in disguise maybe. Needless to say I have since returned the item and I'm awaiting my refund as I type this. =(

I use thermal cooker for stew and soup. I get good results most times. I bring the soup to boil for a few minutes before put it in, leave it in the cooker for 5 minutes, take it out and bring it to boil again, then put it back in, and just leave it until ready to serve. You need to heat up the cooker so it does not drain the heat from the food. You get better result this way.

My experience is limited to the Omega 1000 and 4000. Both are very good machines, but one of them has some distinct advantages.

As the other reviewers have noted, this machine is very solidly built & should easily outlast the 15 year warranty. In fact, it might outlive the 4000.

Why? Because the 4000 is so much more pleasant to use that you will use it more, because the operating principle is a little different.

Both machines have a chute that you feed fruits & vegatables into. At the bottom of the chute is a stainless steel disc/blade that grinds up the food into a pulp.

On the 1000 model, the pulp is thrown out by centrifugal force into a drum that is just like a washing machine drum - it is perforated stainless that traps the pulp on the inside and allows the juice to strain out. Just like on a washing machine spin cycle, it is possible to get the contents out of balance so that the whole machine shakes & makes a real racket! This is very easy to do on the...

2. Great Juicer!
This juicer has been great. It juices anything we throw at it. Very powerful motor. Very little vibration. Super high quality!

We've made all kinds of juices, but especially like vegetable (beets, carrots, etc.) and fruit (cherries, strawberries, etc.) mixes.

The only drawback I've found is that the basket that holds the pulp is a little hard to clean. It's not as bad as it could be, but does require a bit of time to get all the pulp out. We've found that a vegetable (stiff bristled) brush makes this go a lot faster.

I didn't rate it 5 stars because of that (somewhat hard to clean) and also that the capacity of juicing is smaller than what some people might need. I suspect you could get about 2, maybe 3 cups of juice before having to remove the pulp. If you wanted more you could just start over. I can imagine for some people (or commercial operations) this would be a drawback.

If I were to get another juicer, I'd definitely buy an Omega. The quality surpasses others...

Don't understand why Omega 1000 is highly rated
I've had my Omega 1000 juicer for about a year. I used it around 30 times when POOF! That was it, the motor burned out. Then I spent five minutes on the Web to discover that it's a "1/3 horsepower" juicer. That's a little less than 250 watts.

Other models like the L'Equip 110.5 Mini Pulp Ejector Juicer (rated better and less expensive than the Omega 1000) put out 600 watts. Even the Omega 8005 produces only 1/3 horsepower.

If you go to Bizrate.com, on the page where the 8005 is displayed, it posts a power rating of 1/3 hp. Yet if you click on the "What's this?" next to the "Power" heading, you're told:

"Power: Determine the wattage rating on the juicer. If you're juicing hard produce, the more watts, the better. A motor rating of 450 watts or greater is recommended."

Translated to hp, Bizrate.com recommends a bit more than 1/2 horsepower as the minimum acceptable hp. Shame on me for not spending the time to research this before buying...

My juicing goes back to 1978 when I bought a Norwalk Machine to save my mother's life, which the Norwalk did. She was 62 then and lived to be 83. Before her Norwalk her doctor gave her no hope because her body was fat, sick, and nearly dead from toxemia. Well, Not very Impressed with overall....
Got my Juice Buddy The day before yesterday in the mail Sep 27th. Took 12 days from order Sep 15 to delivery Sep 27, Not very quick being as we needed to get juicing, as my wife is following Gerson and needed to have a press after being diagnosed w/ stage IV cancer... So a bit Po'D over that( but probably some of USPS fault as well). 1. Toast size matters
With my last 3 toasters I have had to rotate the toast half way through toasting to be sure the top 20% of the slice was done. This time I decided to get the toaster with the largest toasting depth. Unfortunately that dimension is not defined in any toaster specs. that I could find. Therefore I visited every store appliance store in our area and measured the effective toasting depth on every display model. Most toasters have a toasting depth of 4.0 ins. to 4.25 ins. The DeLonghi has a toasting depth of 5.0 ins. I bought it and my toasting problem has been solved.

2. Great Toaster
After many years of having a toaster oven, I finally got sick of the mess of it and decided to go with a toaster instead. My husband actually picked this one because of reviews he had read on it. I love several of the features on it. You have a defrost cycle for your frozen items that works perfectly on bagels. Then there is the bagel setting that only toasts the inside parts of the bagel, which keeps the crust soft. While I will admit it took several tries to figure out the way to put the bagels in for this feature....once you get it ...you'll love it. I finally have perfect toast, bagels and waffles. I also love to crumb trays....so easy to clean.

My old DeLonghi finally broke after many years of good service, and I wanted another 4-slice toaster in stainless steel, so naturally I selected this one. It's OK but some earlier reviewers were correct -- it tends to toast the bread a little too light, and I don't mean only frozen bread or bagels. It's adequate and I love how it looks, but I keep it on the highest setting and sometimes have to pop the toast back down for a second time.

This is a great product, especially for frying fish, it will hold enough fish to fry at one time for a large serving, I recommend this product for "the wanna be" great fish frying back yard person that wants a great fast and easy cook out. I also use mine for quick and easy french fries, chicken strips, breaded pork chops and breaded deer steaks.

2. Not very good........
This pot is lightweight stainless steel. The bottom scorched through, (blackened) on it's first use. I used it on my stove's 16,000 BTU burner, but that has not been a problem for my other cookware. The fried chicken it produced was good, but I'm sure this pot can't stand up to heavy use. Buy it only for occasional use. If you plan to fry alot, buy a basket for your dutch oven or buy a commercial aluminum fry bottom/basket.

Cheap quality.
The quality of this cookware is the worst I have ever encountered! 1. No product information or instructions came in the box. 2. Attaching the handle was quite a trick, requiring a pair of pliers to compress the two attaching rods to the basket bracket. 3. The bottom of the pot is very very thin, so it can be easily damaged. 4. The frying basket does not sit correctly on the ledge of the outer pot, making it hang down in the back (the photo is deceptive). 5. The lid does not fit the pot. 6. It looks like the pot is bent, so the basket doesn't move freely inside the pot. 7. Various areas on the pot are burnished and not polished, revealing very shoddy work.

The sales price was not a determining factor when purchasing this fryer, and I would have paid much more for good quality. As it is, the cookware is sub-standard, which no one can use.

1. Thin and crunchy, just how we like them
My husband and I were given this waffle iron as a gift for our wedding three years ago. It is just like the one his grandmother had, and make American style (small holes, not deep like Belgian) square waffles. Ours never come out square because its difficult to pour the batter just right for that.

I have never experienced difficulty with the irons staying in place. There are clips that secure them. Reading the instructions should make that quite clear. I do find it inconvenient to clean the baked-on oils from the waffle side of the irons, but they did design it so they remove for cleaning, so I can't complain.

The maker has a heat dial, with a setting for waffles. It adjusts easily to make your waffles more/less brown. The light comes on while baking, and shuts off when finished.

I don't find the design at all cheap. As I said, his grandmother had one. My husband experienced her waffles on this same iron through his whole childhood. I expect ours will...

2. Black/Decker Waffle Bake/Grill/Grid
I previously bought one for me and now bought one for my daughter and daughter-in-law (at their request). I like the ability to flip the grids depending on the desired usage. I fif find that you do have to spray the grids, otherwise the pancakes or waffles stick. Eventually, the spray builds up. It's a decent product.

I wanted to purchase this machine a while ago, but couldn't find coffee capsules that I liked. That's changed.

I took a second look at Nespresso when the Pixie came out, but after using the Pixie in the store on multiple occasions, I wouldn't purchase it. (Please see my Pixie review). I instead purchased the Citiz.

It's a great machine, producing consistent quality coffee from cup to cup with a lovely crema at the top. When you test the coffees, read the descriptions, and look for the intensity numbers (which can be found in the descriptions and on the sleeve which contains the capsules). If you can get the brochure with a wheel on the back page, it gives you acidity and bitterness ratings for each blend. I found that I do not like the "citrus" and "flowery" blends, but prefer the more intense blends which are still not bitter.

A couple of tips:

if you want more of an Americano, brew as directed for the different varieties, then eject...

The CitiZ Nespresso machine is a beautiful, simple, small, and well designed espresso maker.

This machine does exactly one thing, and does it extremely well; it makes the best darn espresso. There are two buttons one for espresso the other for lungo. Essentially they are two different timers; lungo runs the pump for a longer time. These buttons are easily programmed to longer or shorter delivery times.

In use, there is nothing easier. Lift the black handle on the top of the machine. Drop a Nespresso capsule into the slot. Close the lever down. Press the button for the size of drink. When finished, lift the lever and the used capsule drops in a clear plastic reservoir (seen just behind the cup of espresso in the product picture).

From cold machine to a cup of espresso is roughly 1.5 minutes. Warm up time is around a minute, and brew time for the cup is about 30 seconds. Couldn't be faster, couldn't be easier.

COFFEE. It's fine. My standard is Peets -- a much darker roast than Starbucks. Nespresso is not quite as strong, but ristretto shots of their darkest blend come close to the Italian, not French, flavor I like. On a good day, I could do better grinding beans with a $300 Italian grinder and pulling shots through a $700 Italian espresso machine, but the average was no better.

CONVENIENCE. Nespresso wins running away. That's because this is not the greenest purchase you will ever make. The capsules are hard to recycle unless your rinse them, which defeats the major benefit, which is convenient quality coffee.

COST. It's a rip off. Nespresso is building and aggressively defending a razors and razor-blade franchise (or a printer and cartridge franchise). Without ever using another bread maker I can only tell you my experience using this machine. The unit is nicely designed and would look good in most kitchens. I have made two loafs of bread so far and they have come out perfect. The first one was a plain white bread loaf. I takes 3 hours for it to complete its cycle (standard for breads using yeast). The bread came out medium crusted (there are 3 setting for the crust..light, medium and dark) with a light but very slightly chewy consistency (in other words perfect by my standards). I thought for the first bread I have made with the machine it was quite good. In fact, the 2 lb. loaf was devoured by the family, kids included.

The second bread loaf included white chocolate chips, about 3/4 cups of M&Ms, a general experimental holiday bread. This bread had a bit thicker but excellent consistency. Kind of melt in your mouth. I've been using this bread machine on a weekly basis for almost a year, and it's been working greatly until the inner pan was recently scratched by accident. I couldn't find a replacement on the market so that my boyfriend contacted the company for buying a pan. Their customer service responded shortly and sent us a new pan from their warehouse for free. I'm amazed at how helpful the company is, despite that they are not specialized at making bread machine. Also speaking of the machine itself, I find it just as good as the brand-name ones with a fraction of the cost. Highly recommend!

This bread maker works perfectly. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. There are convenient settings, you can place the doe in the chamber, come back in a few hours and have perfect bread. The only issue I have is that if you forget to grease the blade it tends to get stuck in the loaf itself. Other than that it is perfect, you don't even have to grease the chamber itself.

These used to be well made. We owned one for over 7 years.
The latests ones we have bought seem to deteriorate after a couple of years. This is the latest one, that cracked and sprung a leak.

I have fibromyalgia, and cannot fit into the dinky tub in this house. We're broke and we're renters, so a remo is out of the question. I remembered a midwife using this style of stock tank for home waterbirths, and I wondered if it would work in my home. 1. Knob melted
The CBO-1000 is very handy. I'm no cook, but within a few days of ownership I've made hamburgers, jalapeno-cheese cornbead and shish kebab. It is easy to clean, heats up quickly and doesn't take up much space. I would wholeheartedly recommend it as a countertop cooking appliance that does a lot.

However, I have one complaint and it's significant. The knob on the right that turns the unit on and also serves as a timer seems to have melted so that it no longer engages the stem. I can do all the same functions by sticking a screwdriver into a slot in the stem and twisting, but I definitely have a product that failed on the third round of cooking.

I hope Cuisinart will consider this problem and provide purchasers with knobs that don't succumb to the heat. I am in no way recommending that consumers substitute a screwdriver for the knob. IT MIGHT BE DANGEROUS. Consumers shouldn't have to jury-rig a device that costs $129 and fails in three rounds of cooking...

1. Love the cast iron feature, but the switch failed on two separate grills
One thing I LOVE about this grill is that it has a CAST IRON grate so no non-stick coating to wear off and bubble up. It's a fantastic size and works beautifully. The three stars are mainly because I have now owned TWO of these and both of them were working great till the switch stopped switching it on. I've tried to fix the switch, because when I press the lever manually (with a small stick) it works fine. It just doesn't make contact with the switch anymore in order to trigger it. I've even been able to make it work again by gluing a spacer onto the lever so it is ALWAYS pressed against the switch, and thus always on, but even that stopped working after a while. I don't know if the contact just keeps shifting further and further away from the trigger or what. I just got tired of suddenly having no grill. Since it was such an odd flaw, I bought a second grill hoping that was a fluke, but no...same problem ultimately happened.

This is the best indoor grill on the market. I consider myself an expert on these things having used an indoor grill consistently for over 6 years. I had an old t-fal which came to and end after it simply wore out. This 2-3 years ago. Ever since then I have been keeping an eye on the market for a replacement. The critical requirement for the replacement to be the same method as the old t-fal, and that is, open slats/slots on the grill and water drip tray. This is the key to an indoor grill. The majority you see on the market are closed tops and are nothing more than "griddles". No way shape or form is it a grill when you're essentially frying the food in its own oil despite any method they devise to simulate a grill. It must have a proper bbq grill with slots /slots for the height to come up and the juice to drip down.

This product has it all. Super high / hot element 1800 watts. All others are toy like at 1000 to 1200. Cast iron grill which combined with the high element...

Best Electric Grill available
Bought this for it's higher power and cast iron grate. I am pleased with it's ability to grill and mark the food with grill marks better than the electrics I have tried. Tip..don't over fill the water in bottom tray..go for less as the water detracts from heat to grill grate. Tip..When seasoning the cast iron grate don't use regular cooking oil as suggested but instead use lard. It is available at most groceries.. Cooking oil will leave the grate sticky but the lard won't.. Lastly.. I love this quality grill.

I've acquired quite a collection of new and used waffle makers in my quest to find a unit that meets my very demanding needs, and this is the first unit that has ever completely satisfied me. 2. Works Fine For Me
I used a recipe out of the back of the instruction book and only the first waffle came out too crispy. So, I used the temperature dial and turned the heat down. The next waffle came out perfect.

Now, I leave the settings where they are and all the waffles I cook come out soft in the middle with the perfect crunch on the outside. The 2-minute cook time is FAST.

I don't try to store hot food in warming drawers or ovens; personally I prefer to eat my food freshly cooked. No matter how it's cooked or stored, if you store hot food the quality is going down quickly.

The instruction booklet says to use 1 cup of batter, I found that to be too little so I use a bit more and have no problems. Overflow is not an issue since there is a handy ridge that collects it. As soon as the batter dries in there it flakes right off. Also there is not really a chance of getting batter on the controls.

Waffles won't make it to the table
We have searched for almost 19 years of our marriage for a waffle maker like this!

We have purchased the cheap ones to the REALLY expensive ones and NONE has come close to getting the color of the exterior right along with being crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Most of the time if you try to get the outside crunchy the waffle maker just burns it and dries out the inside. This one does not but cooks them perfect.

Matter of fact the first time we used the waffle maker my wife and I hadn't planned on calling the kids to the table untill we were done making the waffles. Well we tasted the very first one. Wow it was good! By the time my wife and I finished sharing the first one standing there at the counter the next one was ready (they say this thing is fast at making waffles and they are not kiddin'). So since the next one was hot we shared that one. And so on and so on till we were full. We never made it to the table. We just buttered some...
