1. Wonderful coffee ... but time consuming.
I purchased the Chemex 13-cup Handblown Glass Coffeemaker a year ago this December and have used it almost every day since last Christmas. If I was going to rate the coffee maker simply on the quality of the coffee it makes, I would definitely rate it 5-Stars. The coffee produced by this maker is smooth and rich and quite wonderful. Once you figure out how much coffee to use, the coffee will come out consistently perfect each and every time.

However, making a full pot of coffee requires approximately a half hour's time. Maybe a little less if you stand by the coffee maker and continually pour hot water into the filter as it drips out. Like me, you'll probably want to go and do something else while the coffee drips, and come back, refill the filter, and leave again, in which case you'll want to start the coffee about a half hour or a little more before you want to serve it.

You can, of course, pull out the filter at any point and pour a cup or two of coffee,...

2. Best Coffee!!
The 13 cup coffee maker size is nicely balanced and handles easily. Solved the 4 mug morning coffee pour. Chemex system makes excellent coffee taste superb - and makes any coffee taste better. Well worth the personal attention to making coffee. Also, heat water in glass container - no plastics or metals to influence taste!

Love chemex, love coffee
This is my second Chemex (for the office). I bought the largest size because many of my coworkers also wanted to drink my coffee (I grind the beans and brew fresh twice a day). I've tried many coffee machines, drip, manual espresso, superautomatic espresso, french presses, etc - but none can compare to the Chemex method (it's all in the filters). Buying (slightly) expensive Chemex filters is a bit irritating, but now that I've done side-by-side comparisons I will never buy another Melita (or whatever other brands Safeway had) filters again!

Why not 5 stars? One simple reason - brewing with a Chemex filter works really well up to 1-1.5 liters of coffee (~6 cups). But this Chemex is 13 cups in size - all of my attempts at making 10 or 12 cups of coffee have failed so far! I ordered this Microwave to replace my 15 year old GE microwave/vent hood which had finally given up the ghost (after multiple repairs). I was pleased that I could install it myself using the templates and instructions included. It has fewer features than the expensive model it replaced but it works quite well and includes all the important features including the ability to use the existing vent or to vent into the room.

2. Good Microwave, Loud Fan
This microwave came with our new home. It can be vented outside or inside- ours is vented inside and there is always grime on cupboards above our range where the outlet is, and we really don't fry that much. So plan to vent this outside or do a lot of scrubbing. The fan is VERY LOUD, so if you like to have a conversation anywhere in the house while cooking, this may not be the product for you. Again, this might be better if vented outside. Microwave itself works good, defrost function is handy.

Ho-hum appliance that does what it is supposed to do, without getting in the way. Price is in line with the competition. Altogether this is better than many: Amana managed to keep the bells and whistles under check, and the control panel is simple and functional. There are no buttons eliciting the 'hmm, wonder what this is for' state-of-mind. Wish it was a bit more heavily built: been looking wide and hard for reliability, even at a significant premium, in consumer appliances but all I found was more (IMHO useless) functions, more (IMHO confusing) buttons, same flimsy magnetrons. Packaging was minimalistic, styrfoam tops and bottoms with shrink-wrap to protect the middle (yes, not a full cardboard box around the appliance). It worked, as there was no damage in transit. Microwave is easy enough to move and carry for one average person alone, allowing for bulk. Assembly and installation are same-o same-o, need some tools, tape measure, patience, modest skills, and proper mindset...

I recently purchased this oven and so far, I am quite pleased with it. For the price, it has many more features than ovens that are substantially more expensive.

The oven feels solid and well built and looks very nice, the brushed stainless steel and black trim are quite sharp and it blends in easily with most modern kitchen appliances. There is no internal oven light but the elements glow enough for you to view the food through the clear glass front making it easy to check on the progress without opening the oven door.

It is a bit larger than a standard toaster oven but can fit substantially larger items inside, including a 12 inch pizza. You should check the dimensions of the appliance before purchasing to make sure it fits your needs and your counters for that matter.

Replaces a similar four year old Black & Decker: Just fits Calphalon 9x13 cake pan - straight up sides, no lip or hand grip! The interior is deeper by 1+ inch and slightly taller (~6in.to element) than old - I think it's great. It's 1500 watts (1200 watt, not enough for me) with digital heat setting and timer; my first test 430 deg. 60 min. If using bake settings, adjust time & temp, then turn on convection. The heating elements are quick and responsive; 2 top and 2 bottom can run simultaneously (bake) and with convection, this thing cooks! Typical meals; pizza, chicken (10 lb, 1-cut @ backbone-lay flat in pan), fish etc., never tried toast. Why not 5 stars? Digital controls require coordination and decent eyesight (also must read instructions) - so not for very young or old. I purchased this about four months ago after another food processor died. My major qualm is the space a food processor can take up, since i have limited space in my kitchen. I liked the fact that the bowl is on top of the motor instead of to the side, which to me means that it takes up less counter space. I also like the fact that- like many of their products- there is a smooth surface where the operating buttons are, which means this can easily be wiped clean.
This is able to handle most of what I throw at it. I only cook for two, so I don't really need a mega capacity one. It comes with the basic blades I need with the grating and slicing, as well as the chopping blade. I had a huge zucchini in the garden- i have memories from when I was a child grating mountains of zucchini with a box grater for my mom and killing my knuckles. This made short work of the zucchini in about thirty seconds.

2. Quality Appliance, But Flimsy Handle On Work Bowl
Just got mine in the mail! One thing you must know before buying this appliance is that it weighs about 15 pounds or so- heavy. This makes it difficult to store away when not in use. No problem if you have lots of counter space, but I prefer my small counter to be free of appliances. I wasn't prepared for it- my old one weighed only about 5 lbs and I could easily whip it out when I needed it.
That being said, it looks great on the counter. It is a nicely designed product, inside and out. Easy to clean, not too big or too small.

7/14/09 UPDATE: I am still in love with this appliance! I use it all the time.

12/10/10 UPDATE: The bowl handle broke and now I am replacing it for $30. I've been dangerously rigging it with a chopstick for several months and now I can't even do that. The handle just won't hold up. This work bowl needs major design improvement!

I'm happy with this compact item; it compares well with the Cuisinart and takes up less space.
It chops and purees well, and the size of the chopped pieces can be controlled by the pulse button. The model with the small cup included might have been useful but the sale price on this item dissuaded me from buying that one. Have not yet used any liquids in it so can't comment on that. Caveat: the blades are really sharp- use caution.

This is a beautiful pot with a polished stainless steel interior and exterior. This was very important to me as I needed a crockpot that did not use typical glazed ceramic for the same reason I avoid non-stick teflon cookware. After noting it's quality, I was surprised by how large the pot is. You could cook 2 whole chickens in this thing. Using it for the first time yesterday, I wanted to burn it in by using the hottest setting. It got very hot very quickly. This could be a plus, but also something to keep an eye on. I was braising a chicken and it was boiling the water within 10 minutes even though the chicken was frozen. The temperature dial has a range from 225 to 425 degrees. I am curious how this will work as a slow cooker and will post an edit later.

Now for the cons : the lid is not heavy enough. As soon as the water began to boil, it started to make the lid bob up and down and splatter everywhere. I did not have it overfilled with water. I put a heavy object on the...

I bought a slightly different model 1 year ago. It has worked superbly all the time. So, why do I bother to write the review NOW ? Because of Customer Support. I needed to move the fridge to another location, and re-hung the doors from hinges-on-the-right (the way it came from the factory) to hinges-on-the-left. When I was done, the freezer door was slightly misaligned and did not close properly. I called their 800 number; it is busy much of the time (it is either busy, or a person answers, no waiting), but it was worth retrying. When I got through to a person, HE ACTUALLY WALKED ME THROUGH THE STEPS NEEDED TO FIX THE PROBLEM on the phone; no charge, no hassle (and he spoke flawless American English, as opposed to me). I am so impressed that I felt compelled to write this review. These guys can sell me any of their equipment any time.

After lots of research, I decided to get a fridge with separate freezer and refrigerator components because I read that having a freezer inside the fridge compartment will make either the fridge too cold or too warm depending on how you dial the setting. This fridge got compliments for its looks in my office, and works great! So quiet, I don't notice it's there! The freezer freezes ice cubes and the refrigerator keeps my food cold. The dial was easily set so that the fridge is not warm but not so cold that it freezes the food. I was even impressed that the dial could be set so cold that my food got frozen in the fridge section!

I am very pleased with this juicer. It lets me throw most anything in it and never hesitates. The juice that you get is very good. It does have some pulp, generally creating a drink a little thinner than that of an Orange Julius. I like this has it means I still get some of the fruit/vegetable fiber that is so good for me while creating a delicious on-the-go drink.

In addition the nozzle heads that come with this juicer are a God send for so many other activities. It makes great pesto, mincing and grinding what I don't have the patience to chop into tiny pieces. The pasta function is great!! I am gluten free and can't seem to find GF egg noddles anywhere. They were easy to make with this machine. The key is consistent, smooth feeding of the dough into the machine.

In general I would recommend this juicer to anyone. Will your juice be like juice out of a can (ie. zero pulp)? No, but I think that is kind of the point.

Big for a "blender." Loud for a blender...or any kitchen appliance, automobile, train, or aircraft. But this thing gets the job done!

First beverage, a juiced treat made of apples, carrots, raspberries...and some ice cubes thrown in for good measure. Not having owned a standalone juicer, I can't comment on if it does better or worse, but this Torpedo had no problems at all converting the solids into liquids. Very smooth - a little "gritty" when used with the "medium" screen, but silky smooth with the fine screen. Based on what went into the machine versus what came out to drink, it was pretty impressive how little pulp was leftover. Very nice - and no raspberry seeds!

Love The Auto Cycle
I've had this appliance for about a month now. I have made smoothies, blended salsas and soups so far. I love the auto cycle, which blends for a few seconds then pauses and starts up again. This cycle repeats for about a minute. With my old blender, I would have to start and stop manually to stir things around, especially when I made whole fruit or green smoothies. No more.

I also love the fact that there is a locking lid. My old blender's top came off a few times when I was blending soups. That was a mess! There are attachments that come with this blender, like 2 different filters for juicing, and a spout to attach to the container, so that drinks and juices can be poured out individually. There is also a recipe book included with lots of recipes to try. It's also easy to clean.

My only complaint is the height of the appliance. I used to be able to put my old blender in my cabinet. This one has to stay out on my countertop. And it barely fits between...

Owned for a couple weeks now. It's worked very well. Does a great job sealing, and vacuum packing works wonders for holding flavor while storing food. A fantastic surprise to this machine is that you can use it to pretty much seal any plastic bags, which i didn't know. I thought it was only for vacuum packing in the foodsaver bags, but you can use the sealer on cereal bags, potato chip bags, and even the plastic bags that bread comes in. Had i known that, i wouldn't have pondered the decision for whether this was really something i would use enough to justify the purchase. I've been using it for something everyday.

2. Will work 18 out of 20 times
I've used the V2240 for 2 months now on a fairly consistent basis. In total I've probably vacuumed sealed at least 500 packages from trail mix, dried fruit, granola... and it is still going strong.

The only two complaints I have:

1.) It will only vacuum seal Foodsaver bags, not ziploc bags. Costco sells them pretty cheap.

2.) The space between the sealer and vacuum channel are too far apart causing the waste of roughly an inch of bag for each vacuum seal.

Overall, I'm very happy with this product and would recommend it.

Xlnt vacuum seal
After years of use and hundreds of vacuum seals my model 1075 would not seal bags properly. Vacuum OK but even a double seal would let air in after a few days. I have owned FoodSavers since mid 1997 and this is my third unit. Mind you, I vacuum seal hundreds and hundreds of packages each year and have gotten my $$ worth out the past two units. Looking over all FoodSaver models, I selected the V2240. I like the fact it resembles the older 1075, simple to use, and doesn't waste excess bags like the new vertical units do.

My only dislike is the "moist" setting. It's about 5-7 seconds shorter than the "dry" setting. Kinda useless as it doesn't quite finish the job. I prefer to freeze the product until the excess moisture has frozen then vacuum seal on dry. Works like a charm as I just sealed a bunch of smoked bratwurst and fresh caught Coho salmon.

I have owned 4 espresso machines before this one, 2 manual (De Longhi), and 1 fully automatic (Saeco Odea Go). So I have a pretty good idea about what a good espresso should look like and what an espresso machine can or cannot do.

I got this Incanto Deluxe as a replacement for the Odea Go that died a sad death after 18 months of service (that's another review). On the positive side, the Incanto looks great, is very versatile and fully customizable. First off, I like this little fridge. The unfortunate part, it wasn't what I really wanted or expected.

I was looking for a portable refrigerator that I could bring back and forth to work. I really like the size of it. It's a good size. It's not very heavy, at least to me. Can use in the home and car. I was able to keep six cans of soda, two one little bottles of water, snack jello and puddling cups, fruit, and so forth. It comes with shelves, but I wasn't able to put what I needed with them installed.

What I didn't like was that it was a thermoelectric refrigerator. It will cool or warm contents (there's a switch in the back to pick the mode). It will only cool items 20 degrees C (68 Fahrenheit) below outside temperature to a maximum or 5 degee C ((41 Fahrenheit). I like my food colder and can't be adjusted; see manual picture.

High quality popper/fantastic price!
I have read and agree with the previous 2 reviews, so will try not to be too redundant. I had purchased another machine (different manufacturer) before this one for nearly the same price but it was flimsy, had broken parts, and the stirring mechanism didn't work in the kettle so I returned it. The Paramount Entertainment machine is far superior in every way and the most important way...it actually works! The machine was easy to assemble and we used popcorn kernals and oil rather than buying the pre-packs, but I have used the pre-packs in school PTA popcorn machine and they are pretty handy and flavorful.

Would highly suggest purchasing the cart to store the supplies in rather than just buying the counter top model. Also, the 6 oz popper is a good size - one batch fed my family of six and only took a few minutes to pop.

Also, the machine was carefully packed in 2 boxes, but we had an issue where the door of the cart had the "popcorn" logo printed upside-down...

This unit replaces a small Avanti thermoelectric cooler, which while quiet, regularly blew its electrolytic capacitors. In comparison, this unit is a little bit of an upgrade, having a better control panel for the temperature. It is a little noisy, but only to be expected.

I tried twice with this order, and Amazon was quick with the replacement. But both coolers were destroyed during shipping. Had it survived shipping, the cooler appeared nice (though not rugged) and looked like it would serve my purposes (I particularly liked the flexible configuration and apparent capacity to hold longer/fatter bottles by standing them up. But there was very little cushioning in the packaging. Consequently the door was shattered / torn off the hinge when it arrived in both orders. Guess I'll look for it in a physical store. I wouldn't ordinarily downgrade for a shipping problem, but unless they change the packaging (or unless UPS handles the box with extraordinary delicacy), I don't think there's a likelihood yours will arrive intact. I order a lot from Amazon, and this is the first time I've run into a problem like this with a product.

I bought this unit, and I am very satisfied with its performance. On the plus side, the unit works automatically and puts a very good seal on the package. It has more control over the vacuum, and the canister hose is now built into the unit. On the con side, the owners manual leaves much to be desired. I would recommend that you briefly read the quick start guide, then go right to the website and watch the videos. I could not get the sealer to work until I watched the video... then it was very easy, and it works great every time.

If your used to the old food saver vacuum units, then this one takes a bit getting used to, because its automatic. The bags feed in the side of the unit, but you have to learn how to feed in the bag! Once it's fed in the machine, then a clamp comes down automatically and does the vacuum or seal (depending on the setting you use), but you have to wait till it's completely done and stopped to remove the bag. I've had a few people recommend them and it piqued my interest. We were at Costco and walked by and looked at the box and decided to get it on an inpulse (and it was $20 off). I just recently brought the FoodSaver 3825 and my major complaint about the unit is the difficulty in getting the bags to seal. It does work if you enter the bag into the slot just right but it used to be a step that didn't require any thougth or finagaling with the older lift-up units. And then once a bag has been used once, the attempt to reuse it with an open edge that is not as stiff as a new bag is even more difficult. I've had gallon bags that I could only use once because the unit would not recognize the cut edge.

I love wine and always have need to store a number of bottles at home for short and medium term storage, by which I mean for up to a year or two. My challenge has been that I recently moved from London to California and only had a small amount of space in my new home in California. Well, I made my first cup and the taste was terrible, not like Starbucks at all. Apparently, they use a powdered milk base for the lattes and it makes the coffee taste terrible. With a couple of pod machines using fresh milk, Starbucks needs to reconsider this product. I returned this the next day!

This is a great wine cooler. I purchased this unit about four months ago and have loved it ever since. Living in the northeast where the weather changes from cool to hot it was not very appealing to keep wine at home for more than a period of ~2 months. This unit allows me to store wine with the confidence that they won't be adversely afffected by the changing temperatures or extreme heat. Besides the functional aspects the unit is also well designed and not an eyesore. It melds into a room and is almost always a topic of discussion. The only complaint that I would have about the unit is that does make some noise, but no more than any small refrigerator would.

2. Great wine cooler for small spaces - holds more, too!
In spite of previous reviewer who obviously can't fit the bottles in right, I managed to store 47 (yes, 47) standard 750ml bottles. All you have to do is alternate the direction the necks point on the bottom two shelves, holding 4 each. I fit 9 on the top shelf alone, but it has to be the right bottle shape. The other five shelves will hold 6 bottles each - 5 in a row, plus a sixth at a right angle so you can see the label thru the door. It's a snug fit, but it can work...

I use this to store red wines, and it does a great job for my needs. I have a small apartment, and this unit's size was perfect. It keeps the wines at the proper temp, and yes there's a faint bit of gurgling noise when the compressor is operating, but no more noticeable that your household fridge.

For the money, this is really a great deal, esp. with the 5-year warranty. ...

Not perfect, but a great value for a decent product
This is a good wine cellar for the price. It's compact, quiet, and unobtrusive, the motor doesn't generate heat (very important in our non-air-conditioned home).

It maintains a constant temperature, but I recommend using a separate calibrated thermometer to verify the displayed temperature. We found a 5-degree discrepancy between the displayed and actual temperatures. You can't recalibrate the thermostat (or at least the manual provides no instructions on how to do so), but you can simply adjust the thermostat setting to make up for any discrepancy.

My one complaint is that there is no way the unit can accommodate 42 bottles as advertised. It will hold 36 regular bottles, max. Maybe the manufacturer included half-bottles in its claim? Regardless, I recommend doing what we did, and zoom the photo of this or any other Haier wine cellar and count how many slots are available. I bought one of these a couple of months ago and although it is a bit expensive it is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. It looks great. It is so well made, it feels like it will last forever as it is so simple, no electronics to break down no plastic bits to break off. You get a huge amount of control over the way the coffee tastes, it's all in the speed of lowering the handle and the tightness of grinds. It takes a few attempts to get it right but once you've worked it out you'll never look back.

2. For the person who cares
My parents bought this about five years ago and I followed suit about a year ago. When she first bought it I thought they were crazy, but when it got there I understood why.

This machine is superb for almost any kind of coffee. Sometimes I like a strong espresso and sometimes I like a cold cafe sheccerato which is a cold coffee and is great. (To make it you simply get a shaker (like a martini shaker) and fill it with ice and a few teaspoons of sugar. Brew the coffee and while it is still very hot throw it in the shaker and shake it strongly for about a minute. The result is an ice cold frothy espresso, great for warm days - forget Starbucks imitation stuff, this is much better).

As other people have said, it takes a little bit of time to get it right. Typically I've found that very thin grains are not the best to work with, something between your typical Illy coffee grain and the larger cheap grains usually works well. Horrible Service and Warranty Issues
Manual machines, without question,produce the best cup of espresso. I have owned them in the past, and recently purchased a brand new La Pavoni. The machine arrived broken. I could not even get one cup of espresso. I called thinking that La Pavoni would have me send back the machine and replace it. WRONG. I was told that this was not allowed, and the only option I had was contact one of there US Service Agents and arrange to have the machine sent to them for repair. Even then they indicated that the repair expense would be my responsibility.

At this point what do you do? So either I keep the machine as a useless decoration, or concede and try to fix it.

I tried the three numbers they provided. About 10 days have gone by, and I have called each number numerous times to no avail. You never reach a real person. Only a tape recording informing you that they would contact you as quickly as possible.

This toaster oven offers toasting, broiling, baking, and convection oven -- a nice array. The control dials are comfortable to work with [function, temperature, and timer]. Nothing happens until the timer is set. It seems accurate. Pan and rack cleaned up easily. A surprise was the requirement to have 6" air space on all sides, including rear, of the oven. That uses more counter space. But it's necessary because the rear gets hot too. A negative factor: the instruction book does not offer much help...no suggestions ... no recipes to give an idea about cooking times & procedures.

I loved it at first. I cooked many items easily and appreciated the convection feature, but all functions except toast failed within two years. Repair more expensive than new one.

This is a very easy juicer to operate and clean! It is durable and very attractive with a high quality stainless steel that goes with other appliances in my kitchen. When I opened the juicer it comes neatly pre-assembled, very nice. I proceeded to juice my favorite juice recipe-celery and carrots, it was so easy and I do like the variable 9 speed. I was able to control the speed level so effortless from the lower level speed up to the 9 speed level. Pros: Stainless steel. Variable speed. A display if you really want to see what speed you are using. Wide feed tube. Cleans pretty easily (though I cant compare with other brands). Juice pitcher holds a liter and is molded so its easy to hold and pour. Comes with a stiff cleaning brush.

Cons: No instructions to explain slow speed versus fast speed. No recipe book (not a single recipe to try). Kind of loud. Pulp collects on the clear lid above the catcher (I guess that implies its wet enought to stick).

A pretty good machine for the price (I bought it with a $20 off discount on amazon).

This is not a heavy duty Breville, but it works.
If you want recipes, use google or buy a book.
If you use the wrong speed to extract, just dump the contents of the collector back in.
Its going to be messy regardless of juicer brand so dont be afraid of messy pulp.

Easy to use and clean :)
I was very pleased with the Oklife 9 Speed Juice Extractor. It was much easier to operate than I expected and my teenagers love using it too! The juice from the fruits and vegetables quickly flowed out into the collection container with no effort. The pulp was very fine and I used it in a batch of muffins and in pancakes for added fiber and nutrition, so nothing was wasted. The Oklife 9 Speed Juice Extractor was also very easy to clean. I sprayed out the micro-filter and placed it and the hard plastic containers in the dishwasher. Overall I am very pleased with the product!

I recommend this unit even though it is a little bit pricey. After living in Japan years ago, I wanted to try my luck at making Japanese ice coffee at home. There are not that many choices around and considering that the Oji unit from Japan (seen at shops like Blue Bottle) goes for more than $1000USD w/shipping & duties, I took a shot at this little 8-cup Yama unit from Taipei for $200 here at Amazon. It's as good a coffeemaker as it is a conversation piece. Good ice coffee is no fad. This is a different (and SLOW) method to make really smooth and intense ice coffee with less than 2/3 the acid of hot-brewed.

My brother gave me this as a Christmas present and I've had it for over a year. It makes great coffee and looks wonderful on my kitchen countertop. I love this machine! The espresso it makes is delicious every time, and is very fast and mess-free. There are a variety of flavors Nespresso makes to try (buying from their club is the most cost-effective way to get your capsules) and I have enjoyed trying them all in order to find my favorites. I have had my Citiz Espresso Maker about a month and have loved every minute of getting to know it!

You should be warned: the Aeroccino Milk Frother does not make the milk particularly hot. Now, don't be mistaken - I love it. I think it makes beautiful foam, and heats milk to a temperature that I consider to be *immediately drinkable* but if you like your latte to be HOT, you should skip the Aeroccino and just get the espresso maker on its own. I hated having to steam milk on my old espresso maker - I found the process loud, messy, and the spout hard to keep clean. Nespresso failure
I received this Nespresso machine as a gift and loved it so much, I bought an identical unit for my office. The quality of the end product whether expresso, latte or cappuccino, is very good.

The problem began 6 months later when the built-in frother began to malfunction. I got online and found recommendations about not placing the unit back in place after using it, not keeping power turned on except when in use, etc. After trying this, the frother began to work again. However, several months later, it no longer works and nothing has seemed to work. If you can find a number or place to return these machines to Nespresso, you are better and more patient than I. Pros
- Great tasting espresso.
- Very simple to use (you press a single button).
- No cleanup (except for rinsing out the frother after use and emptying the used pod bin once a week).

Cons
- The volume of espresso that comes out is surprisingly small, so I have to use two pods in order to get the coffee flavor I desire. So now the cost per cup is over a $1 and getting closer to what I pay at Starbucks.
- The volume of the milk is also fairly small. The container looks large enough but you can only fill it about 25% full because it will overflow. And even then it's not enough to fill my grande cup. So I have to froth two loads.
- Can't use a coffee of your choice such as locally made, you have to use Nespresso pods. And since I only drink decaf I only have 3 choices, and only 1 of those, the intense (rated 7) is bold enough. The other two decaf pods are too mild. And don't think you can fill an empty pod with your own ground coffee...

2. Nespresso Citiz
I purchased this as a used item and found that it was actually new--a great buy for $100 off the $299 regular retail price. The box had apparently been opened, but the trial capsules were still in the box. I am a coffee geek and also own another superautomatic machine. I purchased this one as a travel machine for trips to see the grandkids, since it is compact, and for its frother. The design is beautiful and seems well constructed, although it has more plastic than I anticipated.

The frother works just as advertised. In a little over a minute you have one large serving of hot milk with foam that requires a spoon! That is a good thing. The frother is also almost silent, another bonus. If you like very warm milk, you may need to nuke it for 15 seconds in the micro.

The espresso machine has one weak point for American "supersize" tastes. I like at least a 12 oz Americano or Latte with a lot of strong coffee flavor. I do not usually drink pure espresso. To...

This was my first FoodSaver I've used. I've had this model for about a year. It's nice to be able to seal bulk food I buy at the wholesale clubs and not worry about eating 12 chicken breasts within 2 weeks.

I'm giving this model 4 stars because it sometimes gets stuck closed and I have to run a knife along the seal to pry it open. I called customer service about this and they said this sometimes happens when using the sealer to seal multiple bags all at once. Overall, not a huge deal, but something I hope they fix in the next version.

I've used the FoodSaver for fresh fruit that I keep in the freezer for winter. I love frozen fruit much better than canned. The prices of bagged frozen fruit in the supermarket is outrageous. This makes it cheep and easy to have frozen fruit.

my mother-in-law has had a foodsaver for many years and my husband has always said we should buy one beacause we buy meats in bulk and freezer bags just weren't cutting it anymore. so my search began....reading reviews and checking prices.... then one day in feb 2011,i was flipping channels and i saw a foodsaver on QVC. i was happy i would get a chance to see them use it on air. i watched for a while then looked up the price they were selling it for and i was shocked on how inexpensive it was so i called and ordered it. the total was about $80.00 free shipping and it was in 5 monthly installments at no extra charge. i recieved it via UPS a few days later and started using it the very next day. i love it!!!!! it has saved me so much money already, in just a few months it paid for itself. also it came with a coupon for two boxes of FREE bags.... no cost at all. and they arived about 2 weeks later. to top it all off it came with 4 rolls of different sized bags, two plastic meal...

First year was great!
This comes with a 1 year warranty and worked great. 1 year and two weeks after the purchase the vacuum quit. I called the company and they said "sorry the warranty is only 1 year...not 1 year and two weeks." That is a lot of money and freezer wrap I could have bought for $169 and won't buy another

I bought this product for $99 at a local Kitchen wears store. I have used All Clad and Cast Iron cookwear with no problems. I found using a silicon baking mat when I use the cast iron, allows me not to worry about scratching the glass surface. This product has 3 function settings -

1. Power settings(1-10)

I use the Temp. setting mostly. The Power and Temp. functions do work independently from one another. This product seems well made and has made cooking faster and my apartment does not heat up like it used to when using the stove. It is made by Fagor a well known name in the induction equipment business. For me the price was right I am very happy with the purchase.

2. Lets you cook on the tabletop and saves energy too
We bought one to make shabu shabu type Japanese hot pot meals. We have since used it for more and more things. It's great for entertaining because the cook can sit at the table when making things like pancakes. It's really good for soup because it has a built-in timer that handles up to 150 minutes and then turns itself off. I have used it for making caramel because its temperature-controlled 300-degree F setting is perfect for making caramel. I like the fact that it uses less energy, though it needs pots that are both flat on the bottom and have magnetic iron content (put a magnet next to the pot, and if you feel a pull, you can use the pot).

WOW! --- A Superior Cooking Method
Living in the desert southwest, I avoid using my 25 year old electric stove as much as possible during the sizzling hot summer months in order to keep A/C costs down and not heat up the kitchen. This energy efficient portable induction cooktop solves that problem, makes cooking fun, and saves a lot of time. After 2 weeks cooking with the Casa Essentials cooktop, I won't go back to using my stove's burners except for keeping a saucepan's contents warm during the winter.

Before shelling out big bucks for a multi burner induction range or cooktop, I recommend that people purchase one or two of these first. The advantages of induction over standard electric or gas cooking are numerous and explained, much better than I can, on many websites. The ONLY disadvantage that I have found is that pots and pans that do not stick to a magnet can not be used on an induction cooktop, which eliminates my several Calphalon pieces.
