1. Solid machine with high learning curve
I want to preface my review by saying that I have been making espresso for about 15 years. I own a La Pavoni Europiccola manual machine and a La Pavoni Jolly grinder. I set those aside about three years ago, because I didn't have time to make espresso in the morning before work. I then went through a number of super-automatic machines, which all broke down in different ways, and finally decided to try an automatic machine. I purchased this Krups used, from Amazon Warehouse deals. It came in the original box, with all of the accessories, and does not appear to have been used much, if any. I paid less than half of what a new machine sells for on Amazon. However, my machine did not come with a factory warranty, so I am taking a gamble in that regard.

The Krups XP618050 is the exact same machine as the Sunbeam EM6910 which has been sold in Australia for several years. There are many, mostly positive, reviews of the Sunbeam EM6910 on YouTube. This espresso machine features...

2. A good buy
This machine is amazing, milk micro foam is an easy task with the 6bar steamer and the pressure gage is very helpful in determining the right dosage and grind size to pull the perfect shot. This machine doesn't steam and make espresso in the same time, don't know why Krups chosen not to enable that feature.

1. Wow!
This makes the juiciest chicken I've ever tasted. Racking the chicken onto the spit is as easy as it looks on TV. The same goes for removing it when done. Clean up is a snap. There's plenty of room for a plump chicken or a couple of Cornish hens. I haven't tried a turkey yet, but I roasted veggies in the spinning basket. Delicious!

I love the pause feature that allows me to stop the spit from turning so that I can add crispiness to any part of the bird. The pan in the bottom collects the juices. I make soup with it later.

It comes with everything too - gloves, video, chicken ties, basket with lid.

This is one of those purchases that makes me want to tell everybody what a great deal I got. I'd give this product ten stars if I could.

2. Worth every penny
In 1998 or maybe 99 my husband who loves commercials convinced me, the skeptic, to purchase a Ronco Rotisserie. Now, 10 years later and several moves in which it was dropped and glued together again, it is finally falling apart to an unusuable extent and so I am replacing it with a younger sexier model. It has been my favorite form of food preparation, especially in the summer when I don't want any extra heat produced in the house. The food is wonderfully moist without brining which is especially important in our household now. I can't praise this product enough. And this praise is from a skeptic. Tonight we had Salmon cooked in the basket. Yum. Last night we had a half Turkey breast. More yum. My only complaint is that it doesn't weather continual dropping very well.

Paint flaking and Poor Service
I purchased this for my dad and after a few uses, the paint on the gear wheels began to flake off onto the food. He called Ronco and they claimed they did not receive his warranty information that he had mailed 3 weeks earlier, and therefore could not help him. I called Customer Service myself and was told the same thing - no warranty information so no help. I was told to call their Corporate Office which I did. The line was busy for days. I emailed Ronco and received an automatic reply that said I would be contacted regarding my email in 24 to 48 hours. I received a reply email ONE MONTH LATER! The problem is still not resolved....

Makes Wonderful Rice
I like this little machine. It reminds me of rice cookers I've used in Japan. And it should because it is made in Japan. I've used it a few months now and it makes perfect rice every time. And that's all I really need. The higher-end rice cookers have fancy features that I'd never use; so this machine is just what I need. I was worried the 5.5 cup machine might be too small for my son and me but it's worked out well. So, if you're looking for just a basic rice cooker, I'd recommend this one.

This grinder has worked well so far it is a 350 watt grinder with a larger than normal auger and throat (compared to most 350 watt styles) as long as you don't push it to hard it will work decent but if you try to force it it will bog down quickly, on the up side it appears to be well made and is easy to break down and clean....would have given it more stars but it is not as powerful as I was hoping for.

I'm Italian and love this product. As a kid we rolled everything with a rolling pin....lots of hours of work. My aunt first got one of these Ampia's and told the familia. We got one & it works great & saves alots of time. It's well built, sturdy, inexpensive but most important does a great job with little effort.

2. Only thing missing is an english manual
GReat product. My daughter uses it for polymer clay and loves it. It stands up to everything she puts into it, unlike the ones sold specifically for Poly clay. It's a simply machine that anyone can figure out, so the manual is just a plus, really. It would be nice, though, to have more sort of "how to use this product to best effect" instructions, and in English, rather than Italian. Not complaining, though. Its quite satisfactory.

Good but not what it claims
this is an extremely well made machine and does a great job at what it does however, it lists lasagna as one of the types of noodles it makes and that is the main reason I bought it. The only place lasagna is mentioned is in the ad and on the box. The machine doesn't have a place for making them and the directions say nothing about them! I'm not sure why it is listed. Furthermore, no attachments can be added so that isn't one you can add! If I had known the ad was wrong, I wouldn't have gotten this machine; I'd have bought an attachment for my old machine!

1. Nothing classic about it.
My wife bought this to replace a 1950's model hand-crank machine that we have been using about 5 or 6 times a year since we met, which was 13 years ago. It was given to me and I don't know how much it was used before that but I suspect quite a lot. The tub is made out of fiberglass, the cylinder stainless steel, the crank from steel and a rugged alloy of aluminum. The dash is made of wood and aluminum. We always make the same ice cream each time, mint chocolate chip. It always turns out very well. But it is showing some wear now, as you would expect a 60 year old machine to, even though we used it 4th of July this year (2009) and it worked just fine. We got this one because it had the hand-crank option, and the key as far as I'm concerned to making good ice cream is the option to crank it until it almost can't crank anymore. Lets be real, it isn't less expensive to make your own ice cream (like the description on this machine says); it costs between 15 and 20 dollars to make a modest...

2. Poorly made!
We were excited about the thought of an electric machine that could double as a hand-crank if electric isn't available. However, on the 3rd time making ice cream, the motor made noise, but didn't turn the paddle. So we switched to the hand-crank. There are too many plastic parts on the hand crank, so as the ice cream thickened, the crank started breaking. The ice cream was still very, very soft, but it just wouldn't crank anymore.

I called the company and they agreed that they had received some bad motors but were expecting new ones in that week or so. They also admitted that the plastic parts were a bad design, and they would be changing that in the future. I asked if they would send me a new crank as well. I waited a month and still no sign of it or call. I repeated to call them every couple of weeks, but after 4 calls I gave up and sent it back for a refund because the year warranty was about to run out.

I would not recommend this product at all.

Frosty
This ice cream maker is well made for the price and it is much quieter than my older unit with the plastic ice bucket. The ice cream is more firm when it is done than with some of the other makers I have used. It makes enough ice cream for the neighborhood at one time. I also like having the option to use either the electric motor or the hand crank.

I purchased this unit for our community theatre's concession stand. It is perfect. It pops twice as much as our old popper and is very easy to maintain.
I highly recommend you read the instructions thoroughly as they are vague.
The only reason I did not give my review 5 stars is I had some issue with the soft metal of the handles and hinges of the doors. Any misuse and the doors will not close.

1. Mega Mix Craft
This blender craft/pitcher/container fits the Mega Mix too. the blender is great and the 48oz. craft works great but! after about 1 year the wagon wheel on the bottom of the cutter assembly will strip and sheer off. this is the 3rd craft i've purchased and they all do the same thing. i make smoothies every day with ice, frozen fruit, milk and protein powder. no matter what order you put the ingredients into the craft it blends perfectly but after a while the torque takes it's toll. the cutter assembly in the bottom of the craft cost just as much as the whole container so i just bought two so i have another as a backup.

while i love the blender, the week point is the rubber drive coupler and wagon wheel. in the future i would buy a blender that uses an all metal drive coupling! ! !

if you have one of these blenders try to buy the crafts when someone has them on sale and order a back up because you'll need it eventually if you plan to keep the blender.

2. COMPLETEY DISAPPOINTED!
I own a cafe that sells smoothies and protien shakes and these blenders have to be replaced every 2-3 months. After purchasing a dozen blenders (container only) I decided to write to the company to see if they would repair or replace the containers. Although I had no contact with a real person they did repair which unfortunately leaked and I had to resend and ask for new containers be sent. They did replace the containers and this has gone on for the past few years. Every 2-3 months I attempt to call the Small Appliances Repairs with no luck in ever speaking directly to someone. This past time all 3 of my containers broke with in the same week. I sent the containers back, made 4 phonecalls in which I left messages, and got no response what so ever, and have not gotten any replacement containers. This was 3 months ago,. I since then have had to purchase a new blender. This is supposed to be a commercial grade product. The whole unit costs around $350.00. Do not buy this product

Original container replacement
This container replaces the original that ships with the Waring Pro MegaMix. Although the containers appear to be almost indestructible, they do eventually leak around the blade assembly and have to be replaced once you get tired of cleaning up after each use. It may last years before leaking. To preserve the seal and keep the container leak-free for as long as possible, follow the manufacturer's directions and clean the container right away after each use - don't leave liquid in it for long, and never store liquid in the container in the refrigerator or freezer.

1. READ THIS BEFORE USING YOUR PRESS!
This is the most affordable press I could find online (a very similar one costs over $2K and is apparently heavily marketed to cancer patients). It works like a car jack, you pump a lever that raises a platform fitted with a juice catcher until it presses against a fixed plate. One reviewer gave it a 1 star (worst) review, and the first time I tried the press, I wholeheartedly agreed! BUT... I found a solution. If you buy one, read this BEFORE YOU EVER USE YOUR PRESS!
The big problem is that there is no easy way to get the platform back down after you've jacked it up and pressed out the juice. Instructions say, go ahead, don't hesitate to use force to push it down. Great. Thanks. There is absolutely nothing to grab hold of! Only fingernails fit in the narrow space between the juice catcher and the top plate, the juice catcher is plastic (so you do hesitate to apply force), and the pressed cloth with the residue are in the way of anything else you might want to try to wedge in...

2. Excellent alternative to the Norwalk
The Welles' Peoples Press, if used in conjunction with a juicer/grinder (i.e. a Champion juicer), is a great alternative to the Norwalk juicer. Norwalk juicers cost $2500 new, and this press with a Champion costs under $700. The juice is perfect - pulp free, great color, no oxidation, with all the nutrients and enzymes in tact. Using a press provides the highest amount of juice extraction possible, and it leaves the pulp bone dry and with a slight loss of pigmentation.

If you want the best juice possible, or are on the Gerson therapy, and cannot afford the high price of a Norwalk, this is the next best thing.

The only downside to this is that a reasonable amount of strength is required to press the juice. If you have a disease or condition that prevents you from any form of physical excursion, the Peoples Press may not be a good fit for you.

Clean up simple, quick, and easy. I love this press and use it everyday.

This is a godsend for people who cant afford a Norwalk Press. Just buy a champion, (used, for about a hundred bucks on craigslist)put in the blank screen and triturate your veggies like phase one of the Norwalk, and then run it through this. I have both systems, Norwalk and now, this, and this compares favorable. It is a little more time consuming as the Champion does not have quite the power and tube size of the norwalk, but hey, you are saving about 2000 bucks. The quality and taste are identical to that of Norwalk pressed juice, so there you have it.

I've been cooking on a wok since I was a teenager; my dad, ever ahead of the curve, had brought a genuine restaurant wok back from a trip to San Francisco. He loved Chinese food and we'd usually take an hour drive to Philadelphia's Chinatown where there were dozens of great restaurants. He wanted to make fried rice and other stir-fries at home, but woks were not the standard kitchen equipment they are now. Our wok was about 30 inches across...a full restaurant sized wok and the only kind he could get. It hung in the garage between meals because it was too big for the kitchen.

Of course, now everyone or nearly everyone uses a wok, and you can easily find genuine carbon steel woks traditionally used in China. You must remember to clean the unit afterwards.Stainless stell is durable and hygenic plus it looks great. Presto SS Wok
Would have given this item a 5 star but I hate the lid. It is very heavy compared to the Wok. The wok is larger than I expected so stir frying for one or two persons it is wasted space. I do like the legs it stands nice and hi so there is little heat transferring to the counter top and it is easy to wash.

1. Great popcorn maker
Recently purchased this machine. Was going to purchase the maximax machine but there's a hefty shipping fee associated with it. Ordered next-day for this machine through Prime (cost only 3.50) and it arrived the next day on time. I couldn't believe it actually took 1 day! The shipping container was in pristine shape also. Installation was very easy. Took maybe 20 minutes. I've seen another review where they said that the kettle looks more like a 6oz rather than a 8oz. I don't know about that, but I used a 8oz all-in-one popcorn kit and it popped all the popcorn with ease. Very few old maids. Extremely satisfied with purchase. Looks great in my media room.

2. Popcorn Maker
Makes good popcorn and it is fairly easy to assemble. Wrench for assembly is provided as well as a scoop and salt shaker. This was not noted in the item description on Amazon so I ended up buying these items as well. As a result have an extra scoop and shaker but this is not a big deal. This machine is pretty heavy as well when it is on the stand. Kettle is removeable as well as the upper box which is on a spring retention system for easier cleaning.

After 5 years of considering the purchase of a Vita-mix I finally took the plunge after seeing it at a Costco "roadshow". I am not a big smoothie person, but I was motivated by my constant efforts to get more greens into my kids. Green smoothies sounded like a great way to do this painlessly. Also, I was enraptured by the demo of the tortilla soup, one of my favorites. I justified the price (yikes!) with the thought that this was going to be great for our ongoing efforts to get more veggies into our daily lives.

If smoothies are the only thing that you are thinking about making... or other concoctions that are thin and slide easily on their own out of the blender jar, then go for this product. If you are going to be making anything that requires you to coax it out, then think again. 2. Excellent Blender
I have wanted a Vitamix blender for a few years now. However, I just couldn't see myself parting with the more than $500 to get one. Inexpensive it is not, but as much as I hate the price--which is why I gave this four stars and not five--- I have to admit that this blender works extremely well. I became acquainted with vitamix through a friend. She had one, in fact she has had it now for more than 10 years. We cook together a lot for our families and doing so gave me the oppurtunity to use her vitamix quite often. The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread
My first experience with the VitaMix was at the Culinary Institute of America as a student. Every kitchen was equipped with a VitaPrep, the professional version of the Vitamix. I personally saw students commit acts against nature on a daily basis. That bad boy stood up to everything we threw at it on a daily basis for year after year.

I went for years wishing that I had one in my home kitchen. When I finally decided to spring for one, I choose the VitaMix 5200. I called VitaMix and spoke with one of the customer service representatives. She told me the only difference between the VitaMix and the VitaPrep was the warranty. The VitaMix (home use) was 7 years and the VitaPrep (commercial use) was 3 years. It makes sense given the type of use that the device will see in a professional kitchen.

I love this product. We use it all the time as I buy meat in bulk quantities and then vacuum/seal and freeze. We also butcher our own wild game and use it for this purpose.

The sealing does take some practice. I noted that another user commented on this in their review. I find that if I shake the contents to the bottom of the bag and pinch the top of the bag with one hand and pinch the bottom of the bag with the other hand that I can keep the bag from collapsing around the nozzle. This allows me to get all of the air out of the bag and makes for a tight seal. I have taught my kids how to do this so it can be done with a little practice.

I have several friends who have bought them after I bought mine and they love them too. We bought some as gifts and people weren't overly thrilled when they first got them because they didn't think they would use. Then they started using it and got totally hooked. You can save so much money.

2. Works fine for food and non-food.
I have this sealer and I love it. It certainly can be used for packaging steaks. Most Mylar bags are food safe. The clear bags you might use with this are probably no better than the channel bags with most vacuum sealers but they're much cheaper. But Mylar bags, which you can vacuum and seal with this, are cheaper than channel bags and keep oxygen and moisture out of sealed items 500 to 1000+ times longer.

This is a nozzle vacuum. The nozzle inserts into the bag for vacuuming, in between the top and bottom sealing pads. After the vacuum is pulled, the nozzle retracts and the heat seals the bag. The nozzle is what makes this work with bags you can't use with other sealers. Channel bags have those ridges you've seen. The ridges allow the vacuum to get sucked out even when the sealing pads are clamped on the opening. The ridges (or channels) maintain enough airway for pulling the air out. Channel bags are way more expensive to make.

Skeptical at first but very happy with product!
This is a great product for me. I bought it because i'm working on a long term food storage project, and this sealer was recommended by a company that i get mylar bags from. Prior to finding this sealer, i tried and failed with my food saver, and all the commercial sealers that would work on mylar were way out of my budget. So i took a risk and bought this machine and i am very happy with it so far! It takes some getting used to at first, but once i got the hang of how to operate it, it worked great. I haven't tried the regular plastic sealer bags yet, but it works great on mylar, which is specifically what i bought it for! Good luck, and happy prepping!

Unit was seized straight out of the box. Rotating mechanism way out of level causing shaft to seize. There was no way it was inspected for quality control as sticker on base of item indicated. There is no way possible it would have passed. Packaging was solid so it was not damaged in shipping.

1. Great choice for a bread baker
I've owned a Kitchenaid mixer for 20+ years. I make bread at least once per week. I'd wanted to try this mixer for a long time, but since my Kitchenaid refuses to die, I'd felt guilty spending the money on the Viking. I had an opportunity to try the Viking in a cooking course, and after seeing how powerful this mixer is, decided to take the plunge.

Pros:

1. The power - the Kitchenaid just cannot compare. The Viking can knead large amounts of the toughest doughs in very short time. In fact, breads that I was accustomed to needing 1/2 hour or more mixing and kneading in the KA took a third of that time in the Viking.

2. The attachments - they are big, and they are heavy. The KA attachments seem very flimsy in comparison. The whip also has more "tines", so that meringues seem to take a much shorter amount of time.

1. Use Crown Top Bottles With the WaterGuard System!!!
This is my second Oasis water cooler and my first with the WaterGuard System. What you need to understand is that only the crown top water bottles work with this system. The screw top will not. Since my first Oasis (which lasted about 5 years) did not have the WaterGuard the screw on top bottles were just fine. You had to be careful when inverting the bottles onto the cooler to avoid spillage but after doing it for a reasonable period of time, I got rather proficient.

The WaterGuard System is really a nice touch as the crown top uses a snap-on cap that has an seal that pops open when you invert the bottle onto the stem of the WaterGuard System. When you remove the bottle it's cap seal prevents any residual water from spilling out on to the floor.

Oasis never tells you what kind of bottle to purchase even when you call the technical support telephone number they simply say most any 3, 4 or 5 gallon water bottle will work. Not so, you must have the crown top...

I have been juicing a lot since receiving this juicer 3 weeks ago. I juiced apple, carrots, ginger, watermelon and even wheatgrass and beets. It was great!! This is my 2nd juicer. I originally had a Breville Juicer which is a good juicer too. Honestly, this new low-speed masticating type juicer works a lot better than the centrifugal type. Highly recommend it!

The juicer works well, but have problems with the plastic
I have used this juicer every day for about the last two weeks since I received it. There are many good qualities to this juicer and just a few problems. I'll start with the positive aspects of this juicer.

First, this juicer is quiet. I can run it while people are sleeping upstairs and it does not disturb anyone. This is a major selling point as I am a night owl and am often up later than everyone else in the household.

The juicer makes wonderful juice with a dry pulp. I don't feel like it misses any juice. The pulp comes out easily and does not become clogged while operating the juicer. It does seem like a waste when I notice how much pulp comes out versus how much juice, but I understand that is the nature of juicing and it can't be helped.

Greatest ever!
I did a ton of research before buying this machine. We had originally wanted a high end juicer, but everything I had read convinced me that the Vitamix was the way to go. The package that I got included the dry mix container. I love the fact that I can grind my own flour! We use it daily. I've made soup, smoothies and tons more stuff. It's so worth the money! The warranty is great as well.
