I've been cooking on a wok since I was a teenager; my dad, ever ahead of the curve, had brought a genuine restaurant wok back from a trip to San Francisco. He loved Chinese food and we'd usually take an hour drive to Philadelphia's Chinatown where there were dozens of great restaurants. He wanted to make fried rice and other stir-fries at home, but woks were not the standard kitchen equipment they are now. Our wok was about 30 inches across...a full restaurant sized wok and the only kind he could get. It hung in the garage between meals because it was too big for the kitchen.

We purchased this wok based upon our positive experiences with the Presto brand. The wok is stylish and is made of quality stainless steel. The plastic handles are cool touch and the rotary temperature controls respond quickly and seem to be accurate. For stir frying applications this is a excellent choice. You must remember to clean the unit afterwards.Stainless stell is durable and hygenic plus it looks great. The non-stick models have too many issues related to scratching, safety? etc. Highly recommended and a good value overall!

Presto SS Wok
Would have given this item a 5 star but I hate the lid. It is very heavy compared to the Wok. The wok is larger than I expected so stir frying for one or two persons it is wasted space. I do like the legs it stands nice and hi so there is little heat transferring to the counter top and it is easy to wash.
