1. Use Crown Top Bottles With the WaterGuard System!!!
This is my second Oasis water cooler and my first with the WaterGuard System. What you need to understand is that only the crown top water bottles work with this system. The screw top will not. Since my first Oasis (which lasted about 5 years) did not have the WaterGuard the screw on top bottles were just fine. You had to be careful when inverting the bottles onto the cooler to avoid spillage but after doing it for a reasonable period of time, I got rather proficient.
The WaterGuard System is really a nice touch as the crown top uses a snap-on cap that has an seal that pops open when you invert the bottle onto the stem of the WaterGuard System. When you remove the bottle it's cap seal prevents any residual water from spilling out on to the floor.
Oasis never tells you what kind of bottle to purchase even when you call the technical support telephone number they simply say most any 3, 4 or 5 gallon water bottle will work. Not so, you must have the crown top...
